That was so not the point right now. “You should have gone home and gotten some sleep.”

“I dozed a little in the chair.”

“Laura…” He trailed off, not knowing what to say.

“It’s fine. I’ll be right back with the truck.”

He watched her walk to the parking lot with lots of emotions swirling inside. It shouldn’t matter. Except that he couldn’t remember the last person aside from his team who’d stayed up all night for him.
