She quickly hands me the gun when Alan passes out from pain and wraps her arms around Luce, pulling his face to her neck as I take out my phone and call Drake.

“Ciao.” He answers on the first ring.

“We got Alan. I need a secured spot and clean-up.”

“Where are you?” I can hear rustling before he begins clicking on the phone, sending out a text for the clean-up crew.

“Evers Docks, near the shipping containers.”

“Got a couple of guys five minutes from you, I’ll send them to get Alan out of there.”

“Alright, but listen,” I take a deep breath knowing this news of betrayal will bring the devil out of Drake, “you need to order agreenlighton Pink.”

Greenlight is not too common in the mafia world unless you’re a rat. Almost every other crime committed against the crew can be handled with an ass beating or finger removal, but a betrayer is never forgiven…you get a greenlight on your head which means it’s a free for all, and whoever catches you first gets to kill you however they deem necessary.

Drake is quiet for a moment, his breathing picking up as he growls into the phone, “Why?”

“He was at the docks with Alan, he’s been a rat the entire time. That’s how Alan knew we were going to the bodega. Fucker bugged my apartment.”

“Fuck!” Drake curses loud enough for me to pull the phone away from my ear before clearing his throat. I can picture him running a hand through his hair to calm down, “Okay, greenlight will be ordered within the hour. Get your fucking apartment cleaned asap, G.”

He hangs up, and I quickly turn back toward my father, ripping his boots off before tossing them to Luce.

“Take the laces out, we need to tie this fucker up, he won’t stay out for long.”

Lexi takes one and Luce does the other while I frisk Alan, finding a nickel plated gun on his hip and a small revolver at his ankle. I tuck both away before tying his hands behind his back, gagging at the scent of his disgusting blood. Ironic, since the same blood runs through my veins.

Luce ties the second shoelace around Alan’s elbows, bringing them closer together and preventing the asshole from moving once he wakes up.

“What are you going to do with him?” Lexi asks, her arms crossed over her chest as she stares at the man she once loved, or at least thought she did. Hell, I don’t know, she probably did, but that love was smothered in hate long ago.

I look up at Luce, our eyes connecting before we both look at her. “We’re going to get our pound of flesh, baby.”

“Maybe more.” Luce winks.
