I heard a rumble of laughs.
“And I’m not letting you do what you’re thinking. You’re a virgin and you will wait until you’re ready,” Seb chided.
“I agree,” Kane said.
“We all agree,” Ryan said.
“You’ve discussed it. You already knew?” I whispered. “I feel you four are the powerful ones, not me.”
I pushed myself off the sofa and headed to the staircase. I turned as I reached the bottom.
“My dream,” I said as I climbed a couple of steps up the stairs. “It’s not because I want that to happen. I just think my brain is strange at the minute.”
“Probably because you’re thinking of Jack and Blake and their sordid threesomes,” Kane said.
I flung my head in his direction.
Chapter 29
Carter
“Itwaslunch,Kane,”she spat. “They were being nice to me, took me to see their apartment. Very nice it is too. Oh yes, and they showed me the bedroom I could have when they offered me the same thing as you did.” She glanced at each of us. “And then took me for a bite to eat. Does that satisfy your curiosity?”
I groaned, hearing her say that. I turned to Seb, and he looked gutted.
“Still sleazy.”
“Shut the fuck up, Kane,” Seb hissed.
And I was glad he said it because I could see her frustration and she was seconds away from walking out of the house and then Jack and Blake would have her, because Kane was being foolish and pushed her to them.
“Well, maybe I need to reevaluate my decision to beyourgirl because god forbid what people will think if I moved in here? Do you not think they’ll think this arrangement is sordid? Four men and one woman,” she hissed and rolled her eyes to the ceiling. “Two men or four men… which sounds the most sleazy to you?”
“You had lunch with Jack and Blake?” I said.
“Wondering why you didn’t sense it?” Lacey laughed. “Because I blocked it.”
“It’s all fucked up,” Kane said.
“It was lunch,” she said. “Anyway, I’ll let you get on with your conversation because I’ve had enough. I’ll sleep on the sofa tonight. I’d prefer it if you left me on my own.”
We waited for the bathroom door to close and the shower to turn on.
“What the fuck is wrong with you?” Seb yelled. “Are you trying to drive her to them?”
Kane didn’t answer. He expelled a grunt.
“You saw her and said nothing to us?” I shouted at Kane.
“Say what exactly? She is spending more and more time with them,” Kane said.
“You should have stopped her,” Ryan said.
“The lunch was already over. I was driving by the restaurant and Lacey was standing outside, and they were walking out to meet her,” Kane said huffily.
“Let’s stop talking about Jack and Blake,” I said. We needed a discussion about everything and especially as she'd confirmed she was still a virgin. I was her boyfriend, and once she planned on losing it to me. So I still had the best chance, but if Kane continued, I’d lose it forever and Jack and Blake were a worry, but that worry could wait for another time.
“On your head.” Kane picked up a glass and poured himself some water.
