Epilogue

Istoodinthe closet, staring at my clothes, pondering what I should pack for a couple of days in Bellisindale. My heart raced in my chest as I went over in my head what I was going to say. Do I just come out flat and say it, rip it off like a band-aid? Should I ease into it? Give him the information gradually, let it sink in slowly? I reached up grabbed a silk black button-down and walked over to the closet mirror holding it up in front of me. I sighed and threw it on the chair. Three weeks since I told Luka. For three weeks I had been playing this conversation over and over in my head, and I still had no clue what I was going to do.

"What is wrong, Vixen?" Luka walked into the closet, wearing nothing but a towel around his waist.

I grabbed the black shirt and put it in my garment bag along with black slack and heels. "Nothing, I am fine." I turned, going through my dresses. I knew Mom would want to take us out to dinner one night.

Luka walked over, wrapping his arms around me from behind. He leaned down kissing the crook of my neck, pulling me into his body. I rested my arms on top of his and let out a deep breath, taking in the scent of his musky body wash. I leaned my head back onto his shoulder. "You have nothing to be worried about. Everything will be fine."

I spun around, still in his embrace; my arms crossed to my chest. "You don't know that. You heard what he said before, he wants to kill Wrath. He wants to kill me."

He lifted his hand, resting it on the side of my face. "Once he knows it is you, he will not want to harm you."

"But what if he can't forgive me? I made things worse for him, I made it harder for you to find her."

"Shh, listen. I know my brother better than anyone in the world. And yes, he might be mad at first, but trust me. He won't hold it against you."

I shook my head. "I think you're wrong, but time will tell."

He kissed my lips and then walked to his side of the closet, grabbing his clothes. "Besides, we have much bigger things to worry about than Arturo. If The Consortium gets its clutches into you, that is when we will have a problem."

I rolled my eyes and shook my head. "Fuck The Consortium! Half of those men are on my kill list for their involvement anyways. I don't give a shit what they have to say about it."

"Not even Vigo?"

"If he's involved, least of all him. He can rot in hell with Gabriele for all I care if that's the case. I'll send him there myself." I grabbed some workout clothes, jeans, and a few T-shirts, and threw them into a bag. I turned and looked at Luka, buttoning his pants around his tucked-in black shirt.

"Is that so?" He pulled me into him, gripping tight onto my ass as he lifted me into the air, wrapping my legs around his waist. "Fuck it turns me on when you talk murder and mayhem." He crashed his lips to mine, the two of us fighting for dominance. He pushed me against the wall, and I could feel just how turned on he was.

I pulled away, panting for air. "We don't have time for this, if we are late for dinner, your mom will kill both of us."

He sighed, his lips crashing back to mine. He kissed me hard and bit my bottom lip pulling until it popped from his mouth. "Fine, but later you're mine." He sat me down and walked over to my side of the closet. He grabbed my black sundress with red flowers and handed it to me. "Wear this, it will give me easy access."

I crossed my arms and looked up at him. "So now you're picking out my clothes for me?"

"Yes and no panties underneath either."

"And if I tell you no?"

He walked over gripping the back of my neck, arching it back so I was looking up into his eyes as his body pressed hard into mine. "Be a good girl Alora, and I will take you when you least expect it. But if you're bad, I will tease you and edge you until you can't take it anymore, and then I will walk away leaving you unsatisfied.” I looked at him and nodded, pulling the left side of my bottom lip between my teeth. I watched his chest rise and his nostrils flare, I knew it drove him wild when I did that. "Good Girl." He placed the dress in my hands, kissed my lips, and went back to packing for our trip.

I walked into the bathroom and changed into the dress, but I left my panties on. I looked in the mirror, smiling knowing what would likely come when he discovered them on me.

We finished packing and started down the stairs. Max was at the bottom yelping, trying to climb the stairs but failing miserably. I giggled and ran down. “Someday you’ll be charging up those stairs like they're nothing won't you? Who’s a good boy?” Max barked and licked my face.

“You turn into complete mush with that dog.”

“I mean who wouldn't?” I grabbed Max’s face and turned it towards Luka. “Look how cute he is.”

Luka laughed. “I didn't peg you for a woman who would baby talk to pets.” He reached over, petting Max’s head. “You ready big guy?”

Max barked and we made our way to the airport. The flight was quick and before we knew it, we were landing in Bellisindale. I looked over the mountains and the stream that made its way down, rising and falling with the terrain. It was beautiful. Luka pulled me to him and kissed my lips. “You ready, Vixen?”

I shook my head, running my fingers through Max’s fir as he slept in my arms.

Luka kissed my forehead. “Everything will be fine, I will be right there with you, I got your back.”

I looked up at him and smiled. “You’ve got my back? If Arturo is pissed, you’re going to take my side?”
