Frankwasdodgingour questions and it was getting on my nerves. He was one of Stefano's men, but we had been using him for a while to get information. Paying him more than Stefano was because, in the end, it is always money that talks. And technically he was still being loyal to the family, after all, we were Rossi’s.

“Three guys?” Arturo asked him.

“Yeah, I don’t know if he planned to take out all three. It looked like maybe he got caught off guard. One of our men on the force said they found blood that wasn't from any of the victims, sounds like he is slipping.”

“What was going on last night?” I asked.

Frank sighed, “you guys know I am not supposed to let you in on this side of things. If The Boss finds out I'm even talking to you, he’d kill me.”

“He’s not going to find out, I'm not telling him,” I looked at Arturo, “you gonna tell him?”

Arturo shook his head.

“Wife, are you going to tell him?”

“No,” Alora replied.

“See, your secret is safe with us, don't get your panties in a twist.”

Frank sighed, scanning around us, “we had a new shipment of goods, and some clientele was here, making bids.”

I hated having to play it like we did, hearing him call these girls and women goods went straight through me. Arturo felt the same way. His hands were fisted at his sides, and I could see he was clenching his teeth.

“You hear anything else,” Arturo grabbed Frank by his collar, lifting him until he was on the tips of his toes, “and you tell me first, you understand me?”

Frank's eyes went wide, he nodded, “yeah yeah, Arturo. Y, yo, you know I always come to you first.”

Arturo let him go, “good. And don't let me hear anything about you mistreating the girls Frank, I will kill you!” He turned, walking away.

Frank straightened his shirt, “You know I am good to the girls.”

“Stop referring to them as goods!” I shoved him in the chest, knocking him back into the fence. “Don’t screw up.” I reached down, grabbing Alora’s wrist and leading her back to the SUV.

“Are you and Arturo involved in,”

“Wait,” I interrupted her, “we’ll talk in the car.”

She nodded and climbed into the back seat. I closed her door and sat in the passenger seat. Arturo peeled out, sending gravel flying.

“You good?” I asked him, he shook his head, driving way too fast down the road. “Man slow down.”

The three of us drove in silence, Arturo and I were always wigged out when we had to deal with Frank or anyone else. We took some comfort in the fact that Frank tried to protect the girls as much as he could. But it still made us both sick to know we couldn't get them all out, at least not yet.

“We’re going to drop you off back at the house,” Arturo broke the silence, “We have a few things to take care of and you can’t come with us.”

I looked at Alora, she had fire in her eyes. “Look,” I tried to calm her down, “there are just some things we need to do that you can't be part of.”

“What is going on?” Alora asked, “what just happened? Are you two involved in selling,”

Arturo slammed on his breaks, pulling to the side of the road. He threw the SUV in park and turned, glaring at Alora. “Hell no,” he yelled.

She sat forward. “Then what the hell was that back there? Seems to me like you are! You’re telling some asshole to be good to the girls, sounds like something a pimp would say!” She yelled. “Then you’re telling me you have stuff to take care of that I can't be part of?”

“You don’t have a clue what the hell you're talking about,” Arturo snapped, “we don’t know if we can exactly trust you yet.”

“Trust me with the information that you’re selling teenage girls and women for sex?”
