He held out the key.

Micah’s mouth fell open. He glanced over at Sam only to find that he was nodding encouragingly at him.

He shook his head. “What’s this about?”

Raze strode toward him, a determined jut to his jaw as he shoved the key at Micah. “This is yours. It was always yours. The Creator gave this to you, and Sam and I never should’ve asked you to let us borrow it. It might’ve taken this long to get it back, but even if this key is our talisman, it’s still yours.”

“I… I don’t know what to say.”

“Don’t say anything,” grated Raze. “Just take the damn thing.”

Micah did.

“There. Maybe now you’ll stop obsessing over those fucking gadgets. You’ve got your aura and your key. Your soulmate, too. Does it matter if you can’t ward a phone now, Micah?”

Micah palmed the key, a beaming smile coming to his face. “Are you kidding me? With the power of our talisman, I bet you I can finally figure it out!”

As Raze cursed under his breath, and Sam laughed out loud, Micah just about buzzed in place. Already he was thinking about what he could try—and if he couldn’t pull it off, he finally had his witch back. She could do magic, and he could use his celestial aura and his talisman to protect her.

Just like Fate intended.

Hey, it worked out for the three of them so far, hadn’t it?
