“Just make sure to call us if you need us. It won’t bother us at all. We can be on the plane and on our way before we even hang up the call.” Bria promised and gave her a hug as well.

I chuckled at how protective of my mother Bria was.

“Both of you, go, and enjoy being young and in love. Now shoo.”

We flew out of town leaving all the worries of the past few weeks behind. Stefano had chosen the Caribbean which was as far away from all the violence and the cold as could be and still be back to my mother within a few short hours.

These were some of the most beautiful beaches I’d ever seen, and I had been to some amazing places, but I thought that Bria made everything more special and memorable. And while we did have two bodyguards with us, they stayed in the background, making sure that we were safe but never seen. Even though we knew they were there, it still felt like we were alone.

I didn’t answer my phone unless it was a call from my mother or Stefano. Thankfully it didn’t ring until the middle of the fourth night after I’d taken my wife several times and given her multiple orgasms.

When it started ringing, that was when I knew our time together was over. Something had happened and we were going to have to go back. I answered the phone as quickly as possible, so I could let Bria sleep a little longer because I knew I would have to wake her shortly.

My gut had never steered me wrong.

Stefano’s voice came strongly over the phone line.

“I was checking in to make sure that Elana and Carina were good. That’s when Elana told me Carina had never come home.”

“Fuck. I can’t believe this happened.” Bria was going to go apeshit. “How the fuck did they get to her?”

“I don’t know, Boss, but I’m looking into it. I should have some answers by the time you get back.”

“All right. We’ll be on the first plane out.”

“I’ve already booked a private jet, sir. All you have to do is show up to the airstrip.” Stefano had taken care of matters in a very efficient way. “I’ll text you all the info.”

“Okay, we’ll pack and be at the airport as soon as we can.”

“And, Stefano,” I said, running a frustrated hand through my hair. “I want these fuckers on a platter and served up to my wife. Understood?”

“Understood. See you in a few hours.”

I took a moment and looked out over the beach, the moon was full and lit up the sky, I hated having to tell my wife what I needed to. I sucked it up and went to her.

I shook Bria and kissed her awake.

“Honey, wake up. I need you to wake up for me, my love.”

“Mmmm, Luciano, I’m tired, can I sleep a little longer?”

“Baby, we have to go home now, your sister’s missing.”

CHAPTER21

Bria

The phone ringing barely registered, but Luciano’s words woke me up from my groggy state.

“Your sister’s missing.” Fear slammed into my heart and I catapulted out of bed.

Someone hadn’t just wanted me, they’d wanted her as well. They were targeting us, and I was ready to have it over with. I wanted to murder whoever thought they could do this to my sister.

Target me all you want, but when you mess with an innocent person like my sister, then that was where I drew the line. I’d plenty of things that needed confession, but she was lily white and hadn’t hurt anyone.

Frantic, I picked up the phone and began to dial her number as soon as he mentioned that she was missing.

No answer.
