“Paige!” replies Carol, laughing out loud.
“Don’t tell me you didn’t see it. He just eye fucked her. If I still had doubts about what you just said, I now have proof.”
“Did you doubt it?” I reply with a false outrage look.
My best friend rolls her eyes laughing.
“Not at all, Scar! So,” she adds, silencing me with a wave ofher hand, “how is he? In bed, is he as good as everyone says?”
I watch as Carol shrugs, shaking her head in disappointment.
“Do you want details?”
“Of course I want details! I’m your best friend, be nice and share!”
Paige is unstoppable and her good humor is contagious. I was scared of their reaction, and I have just realized that there was no reason to be scared. They are far from thinking about the problems that it can cause, but rather about the happiness it brings me.
And that’s all I needed.
Fun before trouble.
“I’m sure he knows how to use all ten fingers,” says Paige.
“He knows,” I confirm.
“I knew it. Is it that good?” Paige asks.
“Multiorgasmic.”
Paige purses her lips, placing a finger on her chin.
“Is there such a thing?”
“Yeah, you’ll look it up in the dictionary,” I answer.
“What word?” she asks.
I glance amused at Carol who continues to giggle next to me.
“Nolan invented the definition of mul.ti.or.gas.mic.”
I emphasize every syllable, and while Paige opens her eyes wide, Carol doesn’t hold back and bursts out laughing so hard that many tables turn in our direction. My eyes catch Nolan’s attention, seated further away with the guys, and I smile like a fool, shrugging my shoulders in his direction as Paige asks me a thousand and one more questions.
At least it has the merit of making me pause in all my questions. My doubts. My panic.
But my brother still needs to know.

I slam the door, quickly take off my sneakers, and drop my school bag in the hallway.
“Anybody home?”
“I’m in the kitchen!”
I rush towards Nolan’s husky voice and don’t have time to step into the room when two arms catch me. His face dips into my neck and he kisses my skin, making me giggle.
