Her phone buzzes with a new text. She reads the preview.
Mia: There’s a letter for you.
“Hey, do you mind if I go home?” Avryl asks Nayomi while still looking at her screen to make sure she read the words right.
“Seriously, what did he say?”
“I don’t want to talk about it.”
