“Still, I didn’t see you wanting to get away from her,” she pointed out.

His face scrunched. “Huh? I was just being polite to her.”

“Really? Was it just that? You looked like you were enjoying her attention.”

His eyes widened. “Wait? Are you jealous?”

“Oh please.” She swatted a hand in the air. “For the world, we are together. I am allowed to make a point about it. You never know who’s watching.”

“Well, you quite made your point,” he laughed, “I think you were jealous, sweetheart.”

Annoyed, she began to walk away from him, but he caught her arm, hauling her close.

“Let’s be honest, baby.” He shifted a strand of hair behind her ear. His finger lingered on her ear lobe, sending sparks sizzling on her skin. “I know how you look at me when you think I’m not looking, and especially when you know I am looking.”

She put a hand on his chest and he inhaled sharply.

“Hmm, since we are being honest,” she began, “Let me also tell you that you can’t stop looking at me either. I know you feel hot when I touch you. I know that you want my hands on your skin and the only reason you’re here right now, standing in front of me, is because you can’t seem to keep away fromme. The question we need to ask, is whether you’re going to stick to those rules we made or whether you’re going to do something about this attraction that keeps charging the air between us when we are together.”

Her hand drifted down his chest and he caught it in his, holding it tight. “You want me to do something about it?”

She arched a brow. “In fact, I dare you to.”

“You’re playing with fire, Tiya.”

“Maybe I want to get burned…by you.” The thrill of the challenge shone on her face. “Or are you afraid of breaking the rules again?”

“Fuck the rules.” He lowered his mouth to hers. “We’ve broken so many rules already. And if you keep looking at me like that, there won’t be any rules left to break.”

His lips slammed on hers and the feeling of rightness settled in her soul. This was where she was meant to be. She kissed him back for several long seconds until she pulled away.

“I have a flight to catch in a few hours.” She twisted to see Myra glaring at her from across the distance. “And Myra will burst an artery if we don’t return to her soon. Let’s have dinner with them before I go home, grab my stuff and head to the airport.”

“When are you back?” he asked.

“In three days. I’ll see you on Friday.”

He raked a hand through his long hair. “It will be a long fucking three days.”

Smiling, she linked her hand in his and returned to where Myra and Shaurya were waiting for them.

Throughout dinner, Vihaan and Shaurya kept the conversation going. They teased one another mercilessly, but beyond the barbs and gibes, it was clear that there was a deep love and respect that bound them to one another. And while initially Myra was mad at Vihaan, he slowly won her over by asking after her dad in Shimla. And all too soon, he had her smiling.

And as she watched him, Tiya understood one thing very clearly—that no matter the lighthearted, bad boy image he projected, Vihaan Rajpoot cared for people. It was evident in how he’d helped out a staff member by bartending in their place so that she could look after her child. It was also evident in how he interacted with both Shaurya and Myra. He cared deeply and strongly.

She stared at him for a long time. She knew he had demons in his past that he still wrestled with till date. But his aura screamed naughty and nice. No matter that he’d repeatedly told her that he wasn’t a nice person, what she’d seen of him, spoke otherwise.

Vihaan asked her a question and soon, she was engrossed in telling them about the funny incidents she’d faced while dressing her brides.

When it was time to leave, Myra kissed her cheek and whispered, “Take care, Tiya. You know all my concern comes because I care for you, and the absolute last thing I want is to see you hurt.”

Tiya sneaked a glance at Vihaan who was talking to Shaurya before facing her friend. “This thing that has started between him and me…I can’t seem to stop it, Myra. It’s just taking us under and I honestly don’t know how to end it or how to let him go. Each time I’m with him, it’s getting harder to say no to this temptation of being closer to him.”

“This is what worries me the most.” Myra sighed. “Just remember, I’m always here for you.”

“I know. I have to go now.” Tiya gave her a hug before Vihaan led her out.

He stopped in front of her car. “Miss me.”
