Tiya caught Vihaan’s arm. “You’ve never brought a woman home?!”

He shook his head. “You’re the only one.”

Joy bubbled inside her. Considering everything he’d just shared with her, this made absolute sense. But the fact remained that he’d brought her to his house when he could have easily woken her up and dropped her home. Hope rose and swelled in her heart. What did this mean then? Dare she hope that she meant more to him than he was willing to admit?

“Thank you for bringing me here then and letting me stay the night…”

Before he could say anything, Vihaan’s door buzzed and his elder brother walked in. He saw Tiya by Vihaan’s side and froze, looking utterly shocked. Seeing him, she moved slightly behind Vihaan.

“Is there a family meeting happening in my house that I wasn’t invited to?” Vihaan complained, sounding annoyed by all the intrusion.

“How’s Neil?” Aaryan checked with Avi first. “I took a flight as soon as I saw your message.”

“He’s fine,” Avi said. “Gave me quite a scare. There’s no fever and he’s sleeping soundly.” She held her bandaged hand out. “It’s fine too. I came here to have breakfast with Vihaan, but as you can see, our brother was quite busy.”

Tiya heard Vihaan’s irritated exhale.

Avi leaned closer to Aaryan. “They were making out on the table. So gross. My eyes need to be washed with soap to wipe away what I saw.”

Tiya’s cheeks burned. Spinning around, she dashed into the guest bedroom, leaving the siblings behind. She quickly dressed herself in her black leggings, keeping Vihaan’s shirt on.

She was brushing her hair when Vihaan entered.

He caught her by the waist and rested his head on her shoulder. “Hey, sorry about that.” His lips brushed the skin of her neck and warm tingles ran down her spine. She arched back into him.

“It’s okay. It’s nine in the morning and I need to go home before my parents wake up.”

He spun her to face him. “Our day is not up yet, hellcat. When are you meeting me again?”

They’d agreed to steal today for themselves. Thus, if today was all she had with him then she wanted to spend as much time with him too.

“I know where you live now. I’ll be back in a few hours.” She tipped her head to the door. “I think your brother wasn’t too happy to find me here with you.”

Vihaan grimaced. “Aaryan worries a lot. Being the eldest, he feels guilty for what happened. He blames himself… He thinks he could have done something to stop the events of the past but he didn’t.”

“My heart goes out to you all.” She rested her head on his chest, unable to stop touching him. “I’m so happy you shared some of your burden with me.”

His arms went around her. He dropped his head atop hers. “I’m happy too.Youmake me happy.”

His words thrilled her.

“Let me drop you home,” Vihaan said.

She shifted in his arms. “No. I’ve already called for a cab. No one knows I’m here. I’ll be safe. And I think you need to have a chat with your siblings. I’ll see you in a few hours.”

“Lunch here?”

“Yes.”

Linking her hand with his she allowed him to lead her outside.

His brother stood on seeing them. Leaving Vihaan, Tiya approached Aaryan. She’d met him during Myra’s wedding in Shimla, and although he hadn’t been very talkative, he had been warm to her. But now, resentment rolled off him in waves.

“Hey, Aaryan. Long time,” she said. “How are you?”

“Good,” Vihaan’s twin replied stiffly.

“I heard you were away. Hope you had a good trip,” Tiya tried again.
