“If you’re going to order us around, I can think of better things to have us do than let you go,” Oscar says, releasing my hand. “But I know when to back down for my Alpha without being ordered.”

Noah lets me go a second later. “We should all get up.”

Oscar makes a noise, and then sits up quickly and gets out of the bed.

I glance at Noah, and he shrugs.

“I want to come to Limestone Ridge with you,” Oscar says.

“You do?” I ask, wondering why.

He nods. “I remembered something. I want to go see if I’m right.”

“Okay, sure,” I tell him, wondering if it’s his old house.

He was pretty young when his mom got him out of that town, but he remembered her, and then his sister. He must have more memories.

“I’m guessing I should stay here since we have an extra couple of Omegas right now?” Noah asks, sounding a little sad.

“Sorry,” I tell him. “But you’re right. We need to be more careful from now on.”

I have no idea how that’s going to work with most of us still going to the academy, but we’ll work it out. We missed almost an entire week of school when this happened. We’ll probably have to explain it to the principal when the new semester starts but considering Everett’s family’s been funding Lunar Academy for decades, I doubt it’ll be a problem.

I take a long shower and put on a nice dress. The threat is gone, and my magic is back so I wear what I like. I put a few of my readymade spells into my pockets, just in case. Time to start getting into good habits.

I do my make-up while I’m waiting for Oscar.

Black lips because that’s the first lipstick I put my hands on.

I use magic to dry my hair, and I almost collide with Everett when I step out of the room.

He smiles at me. “We need to get to Limestone Ridge.”

“I guessed as much,” I tell him. “Oscar wants to come.”

“Is he still getting ready?”

“He won’t take long.”

Chapter One-Hundred-Thirteen

Oscar

Teleportingissuchatrip. One minute we’re standing in the bedroom, the next we’re in the middle of the dirt road that leads into Limestone Ridge. I only recognize this place from the car ride to Mercer’s house, but once we take a few steps into town, I follow an old memory.

It leads me racing down a lane between houses that looks like it leads into the woods.

The field I step out into instead is exactly like I dreamed, exactly like I remembered.

Cheryl and Everett follow and look around.

It’s an almost completely concealed area, looks like it’s in the middle of woods but it isn’t.

“What is this place?” Cheryl asks.

“I used to come here when I was a kid. A bunch of the moms used to bring their kids here.”

Not that I can picture their faces. Everything’s a little hazy.
