“Fine,” Saint agreed, and he didn’t realize he was frowning until she called him out on it.

“Look at you pouting.” Harmony wrapped her arms around him with a laugh as he crossed his arms over his chest. “I promise I’ll give you some before I leave tonight, okay?”

“Where you going?”

“Home, babe. I’ve been here for the last week since we got back from Korea.”

“So?”

“So… I don’t want you to get tired of me. And… I don’t want what happened with Keith to happen with you.”

“Me and him are not the same,” Saint assured, wrapping his arms around her. “The more time I spend with you, the more I appreciate the gift you are. I’ll never tire of you.”

Her hand slid down his cheek before she stood on the tips of her toes for a kiss. Now, he was the one pulling away.

“Let’s get outta here before you start some shit,” he said through his smile.

“Okay, but wait. Let’s take a picture together first. We do look really good right now.”

“Aight,” Saint agreed, making his way behind her. He placed a kiss to her temple as she opened the camera on her phone and sent up a silent thanks to God for blessing him with a woman who seemed to be the opposite of his ex.

Cartier wantedto go to Big Bad Breakfast and Harmony agreed. Saint had never been there before and was pleasantly surprised. They had to deal with a few stares from customers who couldn’t believe he was there, and he had to sign a few autographs before their food arrived, but other than that, it was cool. They ended up getting several different items to share, and Saint was pleased with everything.

For some reason he allowed two of the three special women in his life to convince him to have a few mimosas, so by the time he was on drink three, he was ready to go and slide inside of Harmony. Though Hosea insisted on at least going half on the bill, Saint took care of it. As they prepared to part ways, they talked about any wedding planning the newly engaged couple had done.

“I want at least six months to plan,” Cartier said. “So it won’t be before next summer.”

“That’s smart,” Harmony said. “Are you thinking about doing it here or having a destination wedding?”

“That’s the trickiest part,” Cartier replied with a smile. “He doesn’t care either way. I kind of want to get married on a beach but I also want a traditional wedding too.”

“Then why don’t we do both?” Hosea offered. “We can do one now and one on our one-year anniversary.”

Cartier blushed before giving Hosea a quick, innocent kiss. “You make everything so easy.”

“That’s my job. If I’m not making life better and easier for you, I’m not doing something right.”

“Aww,” Harmony sang, getting a laugh out of everyone at the table.

“Listen, I never thought I would see the day where I’d like the woman my brother was with. This looks and feels different, and I’m so happy he has you.”

“Same,” Hosea agreed. “Y’all make a beautiful couple, and I got a feeling we’ll be talking about y’all wedding in the next year or so.”

“Don’t take me too fast now,” Saint said. As they laughed, he added, “I would love to spend the rest of my life with this amazing woman, but we’re taking it one day at a time.”

Harmony took Saint’s hand into hers under the table. “This feels nothing like I’ve ever felt before and I’m scared to think too much into it. One day at a time is the perfect pace for me.”

Saint leaned in closer, confessing, “I’m starting to really like the fuck outta you, girl,” before kissing her, and Harmony laughed as she cupped his neck and tried to kiss him back.

When he pulled away, she said, “I’m starting to really like the fuck outta you too.”

Forcing himself to take his eyes off her was a bad idea, because the tears in his sister’s eyes made his get misty.

“Cut that shit out, Car,” he demanded, making her laugh as she wiped her tears.

“I’m just really happy for you, brother. Really, really happy. Your mean ass finally found a woman to soften you, and I owe you for that, Harmony. Seriously.”
