“Alrighty then. I guess that’s that!” Kai claps his hands together before grabbing my hand where it’s still splayed against his chest, and pushing it to his lap. “Now, how about a bit of fun before it becomes all work and no play!”

I laugh as his voice becomes flooded with sexual innuendos before pulling my hand away and slapping his chest. I might find his antics amusing, and I might joke about it myself. But I’m so not ready forthatconversation. You know, the one where we actually have to discuss the fact that I’ve now slept with all three of them and I have no idea where we stand now.

Nope. I’m sticking with avoidance on this one.

God forbid any of them give me some sort of ultimatum like choosing just one of them. Kai and Ezra might be down to share, but Nic doesn’t seem the type. Even though he didn’t even bat an eye at delving between my legs while Ezra was still dripping down my thighs.

God, that was hot as fuck.

Heat floods me at the memories of our extracurricular activities last night, and I squeeze my thighs together to ease the ache surfacing at my core. My vagina is one thirsty, greedy little bitch. Did someone say something about a gangbang?

No.

Down, girl, down!

This is so not the time.

Heel, twat.

“So, what say you, Nic-a-roo? You ready to play nice and work on this together?” I change the subject, fanning away the flames of desire that have started to engulf me.

It’s time to be serious.

I need to know one way or the other.

Focusing intently on Nic’s aura, I feel every shift and sway of his thoughts and feelings as his heated gaze takes in the guys at my sides before zeroing in on me. He’s a tempest of pros and cons. A vortex of plans and predictions. A tornado of shifting wants and needs. The longer his self imposed war wages within him, the tighter my throat gets, until I am all but choking on anticipation.

Then it all just…stops.

In the eye of his storm, he’s nothing but determination and confidence in himself and his choice, and I can do nothing but wait on tenterhooks for him to put voice to the one thing he’s keeping out of my reach. Like he wants me to hear it from his own mouth.

“You’re going to be playing a very dangerous game, Wicked.” My heart clenches tightly, skipping a beat, then two, as if lurching to a stop to avoid the inevitable hit that’s about to come for it. “One that could literally end in life or death.”

This is it, isn’t it? Where our time together finally comes to an end.

He’s going to leave me.

I’m not surprised. Everybody does.

The sound of his palm scraping over the stubble on his cheek meets my ears and I sense Kai shuffling, as if he’s nervous as well. I don’t need to see his aura to feel his concerned gaze on me. He shouldn’t worry. I’m not the kind of woman who falls apart for a man.

Psht.

“I hate to say this, but-” Straightening my back, I lift my chin, ready to take the blow like the badass bitch I am. “We do this together, or not at all.”

Huh?

Wait…

“You fucking asswipe!” Fury quickly burns through the icy grasp of heartbreak that I didn’t even recognize as such, and I blink rapidly at the moisture I didn’t even know had gathered in my eyes.

“Did you think he was going to say that you had to stick this out yourself?” Kai questions, amusement clear in his voice. The bastard’s laughing at me!“As if we’d let him do that. He’d be out on his little lonesome, with nothing but a street rat for com-Ouch!”

Kai stutters as Ezra smacks him across the back of the head, simultaneously shutting him up and alleviating the anger building in me at the same time.

“You’re stuck with us, Wicked. Learn to deal with it,” Ezra’s deep, gravelly voice intones as his aura shifts to face me.

“You might even learn to like having us around to tend to your every need and whim-” Dual thuds sound out this time as Nic and Ezra both lay one on Kai, making a small giggle slip from my lips.

He may have just been messing about, but fuck, if that doesn’t sound like a damn good time!

A grin lights up my face as I rub my hands together conspiratorially. My mind already running rampant with the joy and excitement of being back at work, doing what I do best. Only, this time, I have three trusty, hot as sin sidekicks to do my dirty work for me in more ways than one.

“Wicked!”

THE END
