“A fish market?” I ask over my shoulder, my face scrunches in disgust. “At least Aria’s club smells nice and she finds real spots; not dingy shit holes…”

She grabs my forearm and slings me around to face her and when she does, her arm blasts towards my face. A slashing cut sears against my cheek. Her hand withdraws and I notice her notorious metal nail is clasped tightly onto her index finger.

“If you would do your damn job then I won’t have to worry about it because I’ll have her clubs that smell so nice,” she feigns a dreamy voice there at the end of her sentence. She is mocking me.

A part of me loves my mom.

But a part of me also hates her…

How dare she tell me how to do my job? I have been the enforcer of the Giordio family for years.

Give me some damn credit.

I know what I’m doing.

At least, I think I do…

She might be right about one thing…

I…might actually be a little too hung up on looking at Aria…rather than actually planning her murder.

“Tonight you’ll be off early,” Aria says giddily.

I raise my brow. I’m never off early.

“What’s going on?” I ask, following her around the bar.

“I have a date…” she says. “First time in years.”

She looks happy.

And there’s something about it.. that makes me happy…for her…

I sit at the bar while she runs to her office to change. I don’t think I've ever been that excited for a date. She reminds me of a teenage girl. Did all women act that way?

I ask Jamie for a drink. She obliges and I sit and wait. May as well see her ready to go and wish her well if I'm off duty tonight. I'm not sure how well that’ll bode for Madam Rosa, knowing I'm wasting another night not killing Aria. I smirk. Serves her right. “It’s weird not having work tonight..." I mutter tossing the glass from one palm to the other.

Jamie smirks. “You can come work the bar, if you want…" she laughs. “You're a stone cold Daddy-type.”

I cringe. I hate that title.

"It's official, I look like a hooker." Aria throws her hands up in mock surrender, as soon as she pops out of her office. I turn my attention to her, and squint my eyes to take her in…

She’s frowning at herself in the mirrored bar shelves. But my mouth has already fallen open just by seeing her in her dress…

I knew she was beautiful… Any idiot could see that.

But damn…

The black dress accentuates her curves perfectly, hugging her almost like a second skin. A single sequined strap rests on her shoulder. The sequined line curves around the dress until it reaches the end of the dress where a small slit is made all the way up her mid thigh. Small glittery accents were definitely the way to go. It gave the dress a little extra something. It makes it sparkle. Gives it a nice …extra something…

The outfit is complete with her black stiletto heels. She’s modeling it.

I feel like the dress is perfect.

It’s feminine but edgy.

It’s sexy but not overly revealing.
