The betrayal from Tony definitely made all this even harder. I have been dwelling on it. It’s been eating me alive.
There’s a voice in my head telling me not to roll over and give up. It’s telling me to fight. It’s telling me to stick to the plan.
My wound was still healing. I had barely even noticed it until now as I pounded the punching bag in the gym of the hotel. It’s tender. With every fiery jab, I feel a stinging pain reminding me of the Colombos and what they did.
Why had he saved me that day?
I would have just bled out…
I would have just died…
No harm, no foul.
Just a dead Aria Morino-Lorenzo…
And wasn’t that the goal…?
So why not let me just bleed out? Why save me?

Which is why I’m keeping her on the line; making it seem like the job is still on. She doesn’t know that I left, and I’m not going to tell her until I figure out a way to get out of this and keep Aria and her kids safe.
I’m not stupid.
I know she’ll kill me.
I know I need to get the hell out of dodge if I want to survive this. I’m no different than anyone else on her payroll. Except I might carry a little more weight on my death for the rest of the Giordini’s to see. She might feel the need to make an example out of me. String me up for all to see…
The whole “this is what happens when you cross me”gesture.
I know I need to go..
But I can’t.
I can’t bring myself to leave Chicago.
If she thinks Aria’s dead, she’ll move in on them. Right away. She’ll want to strike while the iron’s hot. She’ll want to hit them while they’re down and mourning her.
I can’t risk that.
But, I know I can’t keep her at bay this way for long.
Eventually her patience will wear out.
It’s already wearing thin.
I just hope Aria’s ready when the gate falls and they all come rushing in…
“They’ll be coming for you…” I say this with as much warning as I can muster.
“Let them..” she says, her eyes ignited with fire.
That’s one thing I admired about her. She’s a fighter. Just like me.
