I shut the door. When I turn around, he’s standing close to me – so close my back is nearly against the door. He puts his hand over my head and leans into me. He closes his eyes and says, “Maggie, the video...”

I laugh, placing my hand on his chest.

“It’s gotten you really worked up?”

“You have no idea.”

Before I can protest, he lifts me up, stomach to his shoulder – ass in the air.

“Declan, what are you doing?”

He slides his hand up the back of my thigh as he carries me toward the bedroom. “I can’t wait another second.”

After he absolutely ravished me twice, we make our way to the kitchen and eat ice cream right out of the carton together.

“We should probably eat some real food,” I say.

He scowls at me. “This is real food. What are you talking about?”

I give him a little smile. “I’m not going to argue with you about it.”

He nods toward the living room. “You’ve gotten a lot finished since last time I was here.”

“You didn’t like the mountain of boxes before?”

“It was an interesting design choice, but this suits your style better.”

I laugh. “It does. It feels good to be settled.”

Right as I’m about to take a big bite of ice cream, he says, “Are you upset about not getting pregnant?”

I set my spoon back down. “I’m not going to lie. I had a twinge of disappointment, but it’s just the first month.”

He nods. “I’m sorry it didn’t happen.”

“But...”

He chuckles. “But I’m happy to be here.”

I set the ice cream down on the counter and wrap my arms around his waist. “I’m happy you’re here too.”
