Magnus.

He smiled at her, completely relaxed, and walked down the front walk to meet her. She lifted her face to meet his kiss.

“Hey, sparkles. Perfect timing. How was the wedding?”

“Hmm? Oh, it was fine. Lovely, actually. A minor altercation between the ring bearer and the flower girl, but it all worked out. Stephanie was beautiful, and Tim looked torn between utter terror and total adoration.” Greer looked around. “Magnus, why are you here?”

“Oh. I bought us a house.”

She blinked. “Excuse me?”

“We’re homeowners now. This place is perfect for us. It’s just our style and has lots of room for a growing family.” His knowing gaze dropped to where she’d left her palm cupping a baby bump that didn’t even exist. Yet.

The detail oriented, uptight planner in her brain tried to freak out, but she shut down the doubts.

Magnus had this.

Over the course of just a week, Greer had seen him in action, not just with her, but with everyone from his team, to his family, to his business associates. They jokingly called him Odin, but he managed and maneuvered people into the situations that worked out best for all of them. Whether it was something he’d been born with or something that had been sharpened by his experience, he was a leader.

His every move was designed to care for her. It wasn’t always comfortable, because he took to discipline as easily and fully as he indulged in pleasure, but everything he did was for her.

It was the love she’d always wanted, the one she’d always read about and dreamed about and nurtured in her secret heart.

And now they had their castle.

Magnus was Greer’s fairy tale come true.
