A. simply nodded, not adding anything.

“Oh, I will,” said Dante, confident as ever. “See you later, Rat.”

Thao glared, but before anyone could add anything, Dante pulled Eden toward the exit, with his men following behind them. She heard another group following them out, probably everyone going back to their territories. Eden was still stunned by everything that had just happened, and in such a short time too. She had no idea how much time had really passed since they walked into the building, but she could tell it hadn’t been long at all. They had come, listened to and exchanged information, and left. She had thought things would be... not so smooth. Eden couldn’t even tell what she’d been expecting, but she was just glad they walked out alive. The Zodiacs were surprisingly... reasonable people. Or perhaps they were more careful of their actions in front of their peers. She had felt the danger surrounding each of them. Even the mysterious A... She was most curious about that man as he could contact the Edge. How? Was he a hacker as well?

“Eden.”

She looked around, realizing they were outside. Dante chuckled, his arm still around her waist, keeping Eden close to him. She felt a bit annoyed that she had let herself be engulfed in her thoughts without paying any attention to their surroundings, especially when they weren’t in their own territory. She quickly followed him into the car, only letting out a long sigh of relief once she was inside. Rolf started the car right away, finally taking them out of there.

“...What did you think?” asked Dante.

“I think the threat is real… Do you trust that guy? A.?”

“I trust none of them. But A. rarely comes out of hiding... so it means the emergency is real.”

“...He seemed a bit strange. …Is he a hacker too?”

“What makes you think so?”

“The Edge. They only work through other hackers, from the little I know... I doubt they’d just hand the information to anyone, especially a Zodiac.”

Dante chuckled, finishing his cigarette. He opened a hidden drawer between them, which, to Eden’s surprise, contained a crystal bottle of whiskey and two glasses. Dante swiftly poured himself a glass despite the movement of the car.

“You’re right,” he said. “A. is a hacker... Although we don’t know his codename either. We only know him as A. We don’t know much at all about him... not even his main residence. The previous Hare was a crazy bastard, a bit too trigger-happy... A. appeared during a meeting one day to claim he was the new Hare.”

“That was it?”

Dante nodded and put the glass against his lips to sip some whiskey. Eden was shocked. So not even the other Zodiacs knew what had happened to the previous Arabian Hare... It was shocking. She sighed.

“That Thao too. What’s your story with her?”

Dante shrugged.

“Another crazy one... Her thing is poison and drugs. Her older sister was the previous Rat, but she didn’t last long... I guess their family wasn’t a happy one.”

“Do you think she’ll really attack the Snake?”

“Not if we get there first.”

Eden froze.

“...You were serious?”

“Of course I was,” chuckled Dante. “You heard it. It’s a race... That’s why we’re attacking tonight.”

“Dante!” Eden exclaimed.

“Prepare yourself, Eden. You’re going to help me wipe them out... or should I say, Ghost?”

Eden glared at him, unhappy with his smirk.

“...I never agreed to do this for you, and I never said I was Ghost, either.”

“Oh, come on, we’re past that now. I don’t care about your name.”

“What’s your obsession with Ghost, then?” she retorted.

Dante suddenly paused, seemingly lost in his thoughts. That complex expression in his eyes intrigued Eden. He waited a few seconds and eventually sighed.
