Turn aroundchanted over and over in my mind. Finally, when she gathered the two drinks from the bar and turned, I felt my knees weaken.

The woman had a bronze glow to her skin, and it wasn’t from wearing makeup. Even from here, I could see she was natural, except for the black mascara applied to her incredibly long lashes. As she headed towards where I stood, I noticed her eyes. Eyes as blue as the Azure Sea on a sunny day. She looked up and smiled, and a dimple I could dive into appeared.

“Wow!” Owen said with a whoosh of breath.

“Definitely.” I watched as she joined another woman about the same age at a nearby table for four. The redhead was attractive but didn’t hold a candle to the brunette.

Fed up with my ogling, Owen stepped away. “I’ll get the drinks.”

“Thanks,” I said half-heartedly.

I remained where I was, waiting to see if the pair would be joined by anyone—specifically anyone of the male persuasion. When Owen returned, he handed me a drink and I set off in the ladies’ direction with him by my side.

“I’m guessing you’re taking the brunette? They look young, are you sure?” Owen asked with a touch of concern in his voice.

“Never too young for one night. I just hope they don’t think we’re too old.”

Owen laughed and slapped my shoulder. “Never too old for fun.”

The girls were busy talking but looked up when we neared their table. My eyes stayed fixed on the brunette. Up close, she was even more stunningly beautiful and appeared very young. What was it about her that had my heart thumping hard enough to break a rib and my dick taking an interest? I’d been with all kinds of gorgeous girls, granted, not as beautiful as this girl, but I had never experienced a reaction like I was having now.

“May we join you, ladies?” I heard Owen ask since it appeared I’d been struck dumb.

“Of course,” the redhead answered.

“Do you mind?” I asked the brunette as I pointed to the vacant chair beside her.

“No. Please join us.”

I set my drink on the table and moved the chair a little closer to the object of my attention before sitting. Owen sat by the redhead. I held my hand out to the woman I hadn’t taken my eyes off. “Jason Everett.”

I never used my real name, and if anyone I met recognised me, I usually managed to convince them they were mistaken.

The girl didn’t hesitate to slide her soft hand into mine and the touch had all kinds of fireworks going off through my body. She didn’t frown or narrow her eyes, none of the things people usually did when they thought they recognised me from a picture in the media. No, this girl didn’t have a clue who I was, and I didn’t want to appear arrogant, but had she been living under a rock?

“Allison and that’s all you need to know.”

Impressive. The lady was not afraid to speak her mind and was cautious. A good idea when you were meeting a stranger in this city.

I turned to the redhead, and we shook. “Pleased to meet you.”

“Same. I’m Linda.”

Owen introduced himself as Benji, his usual go-to name.

There was no doubt in my mind the girls had given us false names as we had given them. I don’t know why I knew; I just did.

I directed my attention back to Allison. “Tell me about yourself, Allison.”

“I’ve just arrived in town and start a new job on Monday. I’m living in Paddington with two girls who are at Sydney Uni. What about you?”

“I work at an electronics company and have a home in Elizabeth Bay.”

Linda’s eyebrows shot up, and she glanced at Allison, who shrugged. I wondered what that was all about.

“Very impressive,” Linda commented eventually.

“Why is it impressive?” Allison asked.
