“I’ll show you grumpy.”
“Yes!”
She giggles as I pick her up and throw her onto the bed before crawling on top of her.
“You’re okay with moving in here?”
I freeze. “If I wasn’t okay with it, I would tell you.”
She blows out a breath. “Okay.”
“I’m proud of you.” She’s come a long way from her fear of becoming her mother.
“Really?” She arches an eyebrow. “I don’t believe you.”
“Guess I’ll have to show you.”
“Yeah!”
And I proceed to do just that. I plan to show her how I feel every single day for the rest of my life. Step one – move in together – is done. Now to plan for step two – giving her my last name.
