“Val, I didn’t mean to upset you. I just want what is best for you and my boy.”

“He isn’t yours!” I shout, and a look of hurt flashes in his eyes. “He’s mine and Beckett’s son, Jeff. It isn’t confusing for him living here because Beck isn’t just some random guy, he’s Dawson’s father, I’ve told you that before.” An angry look over takes his features.

“Is he hurting you?” I balk at him.

“What the hell? Why would you say that?”

“I know you, Val, and this isn’t you. You would never let someone likehimcontrol you. Just say the word and I’ll get you and our boy out of here.” I stare at Jeff in a new light, he looks unhinged.

“The only person who is going to be fucking hurt is you if you don’t get your fucking hands offmygirl and get the fuck away frommyson!” I snap my head toward the entry to see Beck, Corvin, Darius, Saint, Crue and Katie standing there. The five guys have murderous looks on their faces. The moment Beck flicks his eyes to me I stiffen at the angry look he shoots me.

“Daddy!” Dawson shouts happily, ignorant to the tension in the room as he runs to his father. Beck schools his features and smiles at our son as he bends down and scoops him up into his arms. “I miss you.” Beck’s face softens as he gazes at our boy.

“I missed you too, monster. Let’s go get you a snack from the kitchen while mommy takes the trash out before Daddy redecorates the living room in the color red.”

Beckett

I shoot Valance a warning look telling her without words to get that cunt out of my house now as I make my way into the kitchen only to slam to a stop when I see Cody and Leah hiding around the corner listening. I quirk a single brow at them. They both shoot me a toothy grin and rush back to finish cooking dinner.

“Get out Jeff, and don’t come back!” I hear Valance snap from the living room. Katie brushes past me and grabs a cookie from the jar on the counter and hands it to Dawson with a wink. I know my brothers stayed exactly where they were to make sure the cunt left.

“Val, please, I didn’t—” I close my eyes and pray for calm, I can’t allow my son to see me lose my cool and coat our living room in the color of his mom’s friend’s blood.

“She told you to leave, I suggest you do as she says before you don’t walk out of here on your own two legs,” Darius says in a cold tone.

“Fine. You chose wrong, Val,” the cunt snaps before I hear his footsteps heading toward the front door. Unable to help myself, I peer around the corner to see Corvin and Saint block the front door, Darius and Crue close in behind the cunt blocking him in.

“I’ll tell you what she chose, a real fucking man that has the money and the means to end a little bitch like you.” I smirk, Corvin’s tone is void of any emotion. “You ever show your face around here again or go anywhere near Val orourboy, we’ll break your fucking face and you’ll be eating through a straw.” Corv steps aside as Saint pulls the door open, smiles wide and says,

“Thanks for stopping by, now fuck off.” Jeff shoots one last look at Valance before storming out of the house. Saint slams the door behind him and locks it.

“Here, give him to me.” I turn to see Leah standing there with her arms out for Dawson. “Becky, she had a reason for having him here and you need to hear it without Dawson around.” The look in her eyes has me handing my boy over and heading back into the living room. Instead of taking a seat, I lean back against the wall, kicking a leg behind me and crossing my arms over my chest as I glare down at my baby momma.

“I can explain—”

I cut her off. “There better be a fucking epic reason why your little bitch boy was in my fucking house and having his goddamn fucking hands on you!” My tone is calm and quiet, she swallows loudly knowing that the fact I’m not shouting or crowding her space means I’m well passed fucking livid with her. She looks around the room to see the four guys standing there staring directly at her waiting for an explanation. Coming home to find some random fucker in our house with our girls isn’t something I ever fucking expected to come home to, and I can see from the looks on their faces they are just as pissed at Valance as I am.

She turns back to me as she explains. “I only invited him over because I didn’t want you to miss practice—”

“The fuck are you on about? So, you had this little hang out session planned before I fucking left?” I yell, she recoils and shakes her head.

“No, not five minutes after you all left a delivery came and it was fromhim. Jeff called and I thought it would be okay for him to hang out until you all got back, but I can see now that was a bad idea,” she rushes out.

“A really bad fucking idea, Val,” Saint adds for good measure.

“What delivery?” I snap. Val motions for us to follow her into the kitchen. The five of us stop in the entryway and watch as she heads to the pantry. When she turns around, she has a box in her hands. She rushes back to me and hands me the box. I pull the lid off and freeze.

“Motherfucker,” Darius grits out from beside me.

“There’s a card in there,” Val whispers. I rummage through the flowers and pull the card out.

He will never love you or our boy as I do.I read the note aloud for the guys to hear, my gaze slowly travels back to Val who stands there looking guilty as fuck.

“Why didn’t you call me?” I growl.

“When the delivery came, Leah rushed us all upstairs and had a point thathemust be watching us and knew when you all were leaving in order to get that delivered. I didn’t want to give him the satisfaction of knowing he riled me up and called you, scared.”

“Check the cameras,” I order Corvin.
