In Greece that ring finger had no particular significance, as wedding rings were worn on the right hand, but in America, it symbolized promises and engagements.

"Perfect," Lysander said.

Rowan's gaze snapped up to his, but he was looking at the ring on her finger.

"Such a special woman deserves this special ring," the jeweler said.

It was then the haggling began. Lysander might be a billionaire, but he was also Greek. After several minutes of a spirited back and forth, Rowan walked out of the store wearing both the pendant and the ring.

"There you are," a feminine voice filled with satisfaction said when they walked out of the shop.

Klaus and the other guards immediately surrounded Rowan and Lysander, preventing Adele from getting close.

She gave them a moue of displeasure. "Really, this is too much. You all know me. I am no threat to Lys. I am a world renowned model."

She was a world class pain in the backside. However, she'd found them the first time, learning their itinerary once she knew what ship they were sailing on wouldn't have been hard. What Rowan couldn’t figure out was why she was here in the Mexico to begin with.

Finding it difficult to believe that such a famous woman would be stalking Lysander, Rowan's mind chewed over the possibilities.

Was she here on her own? Or had someone put her up to it? Rowan knew who she suspected for the latter. Cyrus or Baptiste Andino. Cyrus being at the top of her list because he too had shown up today.

But honestly? What could her ex-husband hope to gain?

"Whoever put you up to this won't be able to protect you if I decide to torpedo your career," Lysander said to Adele, echoing Rowan's suspicion that the supermodel was not in Mexico on her own agenda.

Fear flashed in the model's eyes, but then she smiled and gave Lysander a flirty look. "Don’t pretend you don't know why I'm here."

"Leave, Adele, now. And I won't make a call to your agency. Don't leave and you won't be able find work in an online clothing catalogue."

Tears welled into the other woman's eyes and she looked at Lysander reproachfully. "Stop threatening me. I haven't done anything wrong."

"Now." That was all Lysander said.

But Adele spun on her heel and walked away.

"Follow her," Lysander said to Klaus. "I want to know if she meets up with Cyrus."

So, he suspected collusion between their exes as well.

Whatever was driving her, they didn't see Adele Fournier again.

CHAPTER 23

Rowan woke early to an empty bed. Again.

She forced herself to get up and throw a cotton sundress on. After running her fingers through her hair to try to tame it, she left the bedroom, determined to join Lysander for breakfast.

He had been working longer hours since Puerto Vallarta and she'd barely seen him the last couple of days. He'd been so busy, he didn't even bother to complain, much less offer to join her, when she left their suite to experience all she could of shipboard life.

They ate dinner together, but even then, he spent more time on his phone than talking to her.

She couldn’t help wondering if he was growing bored with her, or maybe Cyrus's shenanigans were getting to be too much for Lysander, Mr. No Drama Here Folks, to deal with.

He hadn't come to bed until almost three in the morning last night and they hadn't made love. He'd slept only a few hours before getting up again.

Would this be their new norm when they returned to Athens? And if it was, how was she going to handle it? They'd spent more time together before the cruise than they did now, on their so called vacation.

A vacation necessitated by security, but still.
