Zayn’s Ass.

“Oh, you can call me Merry,” she teased.

MATE didn’t hesitate.

“We are besties.”

From where he stood, Zayn was horrified, and the look on his face said it all.

“Stop making friends with the AI that will enslave us. Have you not seen horror movies?” he asked.

Oh, she had, but she knew that Elizabeth had the system programmed to mess with Zayn. MATE wasn’t learning.

Right?

“What did you find?” Boone asked. “Other than that Zayn is afraid of some microchips and wires.”

“You should be too,” the big man stated, tossing his hair over his shoulder.

MATE whistled.

“Pretty boy,” the system said.

It was so damn funny too.

Zayn looked like he was ready to climb out of there and hide for a week.

Merry was amused.

“I can tell you when Alexsandr is coming. The intel we got was right. It’s this Friday on a private jet going to land at a private field.”

“Which one.”

That she didn’t have.

“Sorry, but that intel is not in here,” she said. “Artemis was set to meet him. She’s definitely still in NOLA. She didn’t leave yet.”

Yeah, they didn’t doubt that.

As she was working, the whole system glitched. MATE actually…blinked.

Merry saw it and was worried.

“What’s wrong, MATE? Zen?” she asked, when it took the system a little while to answer.

MATE finally did.

“I am being asked to share information. The request is coming from this ISP. I am being accessed remotely.”

MATE rattled it off, and Dakota wrote it down so they could look it up.

“What are you being asked to share?” Stella asked as she sat there, rubbing her baby belly.

“Your location, and information on Elizabeth Blackhawk.”

Uh-oh.

That wasn’t good.
