“Rub yourself,” he growled against my neck, the vibration sending a chill up my spine.

Obeying, I circled my clit, my fingers pinned between our moving bodies. My breath hitched as I tried my best to remain quiet. “I’m so close and you’re about to make me scream.”

Grabbing my hand, he yanked it away and pushed me back. Crawling between my legs, he shoved his entire length into me again. I sucked my bottom lip into my mouth, determined not to wake anyone.

Plunging in and out of me at a rapid speed, he glared at me with lust in his crystal blue gaze. My entire body quaked under his touch. Sliding his hands down to my breasts, he held them tightly, pinching my erect nipples between his fingertips. At once, we both erupted. He fell forward, sliding his arms under me, kissing me deeply through our euphoric haze.

DISAPPEARANCE

AMBER

So much happened in the past month and a half. Alejandro had fallen off the face of the planet when he realized Ian had tricked him. After Ian left the table to take the call about Alejandro’s men breaking into my apartment, he was no longer around when he returned. Security cameras recorded him sprinting out the back door of the club and hopping into an unmarked navy-blue car.

I was able to rescue most of the items in my closet, the kitchen, and a few of my books. They ransacked my home, burning a lot of my things before putting the fires out themselves. It was a miracle they’d not burned the building down. A copy of Dark Hearts had been left in the middle of my charred bed, unscathed.

When the men saw Ian had tricked them by telling Chance to take me home, they took it upon themselves to put a target on all our backs. They went to Chance’s home after mine but were scared off by several fans. They were tourists in the area, trying to get a glimpse of his house, or him. Instead, they ended up calling the police on the suspicious men, but by the time authorities arrived, they were long gone.

The moment we toured the house behind the Knight’s, we made an offer. It was a breathtaking Tudor mansion with peanut-colored brick imported from Belgium. The circular driveway, hugged by shrubs and a variety of colorful flowers, was a warm welcome for anyone.

It was the style of home that I always dreamed of having with my soulmate. I didn’t know what in the world we were going to do with seven bedrooms, but if we ever started a family, we’d never run out of room. The property was surrounded by trees and a tall brick wall, offering Chance privacy from the public.

We moved last week, so there were still floor-to-ceiling boxes in most of the rooms with several new furniture deliveries scheduled.

Ian and Chance had constructed a wrought-iron gate in the back property wall, so our backyards were easily accessible through a secret entry. It made late nights much easier when we were going and coming from either residence.

Both properties had extra guards patrolling until the guys could locate Alejandro. Security remained tight at the club as well. Ian requested I take some time off, knowing that I was possibly a direct target. Even though I didn’t want to comply, I agreed.

Tonight, when the men went to the club, Jenna and I decided to have a girl’s night, watching horror movies after Dylan went to bed. That was the plan, anyway. While I arranged some small pieces of chicken and fruit on Dylan’s highchair tray, Jenna grabbed her stomach.

“Amber.” She inhaled a sharp breath.

“Wait, no!” I gasped, “Now?! Oh Lord.” Fumbling, I got my phone off the island, dialing Ian.

“My bag is already in the car and ready. I’ll get Dylan’s food into a container and he—” she exhaled loudly. “Oooh, okay. Nope! Let’s just go. I have snacks in his diaper bag. It’ll have to do for now.”

“Sorry,” I apologized to Dylan as I wiped his hands quickly. Your mommy is—”

Hello? Amber?

I forgot I had the phone to my ear.Ian! Oh, thank God! Meet us at the hospital. Jenna’s in labor.

Shit! Okay, see you soon.

Without another word, I slid my phone into my back jeans pocket, grabbed Dylan, and dashed for the door. Jenna waddled in front of us.

“Mrs. Knight?” One of Ian’s large, intimidating friends stuck his head into the room.

Jenna pivoted around. “My daughter’s coming. I have to get to the hospital.”

“I’ll drive you.” He took hold of her arm, helping her to the car.

I buckled Dylan into his car seat, then got in next to him. His eyes were wide, and his face crumbled with worry. Leaning to the side, he craned his neck, trying to check on her.

“Mommy’s okay.” I laid my hand on top of his.

“I’m okay, sweetheart.” She sucked in a sharp breath. “Mommy’s having a little baby. Your sister.” She tried her best to explain it to him, but he was still too young to comprehend. “Ohhh, Cian, I need you to drive as fast as you can.”
