“That’s weird.” I hummed.
“What?” Jade kept her eyes on Dylan.
“Chance left the room to call Ty instead of staying in here.”
“Probably a better signal outside or something.”

Hiding behind a wall outside the hospital, Dragon stood guard while I made a call to Tyler. He never showed up at the club tonight, but it wasn’t normally alarming. It usually meant he was spending time with his family or working late on a case for work. I’d try to call him several times before now as well, to tell him Jenna was in labor, but he never answered. The phone rang repeatedly again, but he never picked up.
“Nothing?” Dragon crossed his arms.
Shaking my head, I placed the phone back to my ear. “Nope. I’m trying Mila now.”

Mila, hi.
You never call me. She panicked instantly.That was not a good sign.
I sighed.Can I talk to Ty?
What? He isn’t here. He was at the club with you guys.
Um, nooo?
Now, anxious, I thought back to the last time we spoke. Was I supposed to be covering for him for anything? He wasn’t a cheater, so why did he lie to her?
He’s been gone since 7 p.m. Where the heck is he?!Her angst turned to anger.
I don’t know, but did anything weird happen? Did he talk to anyone on the phone before he left?I was desperate to get some answers.
He got a phone call at dinner, but he didn’t act as if anything was wrong.
Okay. I was worried.Make sure all the doors are locked and stay there. I’m sending someone to you.
Dragon shook his head, knowing what was coming.
Chance, what’s going on?!
I need to go speak to Ian. Just stay there. I’m sending Dragon to you now.
She sniffled.Okay, okay, just hurry up with answers.

I hung up, sliding my phone into my pocket. “You have to go there. Ty is missing.”
“I gathered that,” he huffed, “but you’re my client.”
“I pay you and I’m your boss.”
“Fair.” He squinted. “You have to stay with your friends, though, since Ice Man and Cian are here. You cannot l—”
“Leave.” I spat. “Yeah, yeah, I know! Don’t worry.”
“Let me walk you back then I’ll go.”
