Sauntering back to the waiting room in silence, I kept wondering what Tyler had going on. I knew he was never the bad guy we assumed he was, so it could only have meant that he was in some trouble. He’d only ever shown his loyalty and support. Was he dumb enough to go after anyone alone? He was hot-tempered, but never strayed from the plan.

I didn’t know how I was going to talk to Ian. He was with Jenna. He would kill me if I pulled him out of that room to tell him bad news. But then again, he would kill me if I didn’t tell him too. I couldn’t win.

Luke stepped into the hallway from the bathroom. “Whoa, sorry!” He chuckled, taking a step back. “Almost ran into… wait, what’s wrong? You look like you’ve seen a ghost.”

Glancing around, I leaned toward Dragon. “Go. I’m fine.”

“What’s going on?” Luke interjected.

Dragon rolled his eyes, turning his attention to Luke. “Look after him, please.”

“What the fuck?” Luke folded his arms, darting his eyes back and forth.

Dragon spun around, sprinting down the hall out the door. Stepping around Luke, I hauled open the bathroom door. He followed me inside. The moment the door closed, I saw a lock and twisted it. Luke leaned on the wall, hands in his pockets.

I lumbered to the two stalls, pushing the doors open, making sure we were alone. Coming to a stop in front of him, I rested my hands on my hips. “Tyler is missing.”

“Excuse me?” His eyes widened. “How?”

I threw my arms out lazily. “I have no idea, but someone had to have taken him.”

“That explains why he was a no call, no show.” He huffed. “I have to go find him.” He started for the door.

“You can’t go alone.”

He lifted a shoulder. “I’ll notify some of our guys to come with me.”

My phone buzzed from my pocket. Sliding it out, I saw a new message from Amber.

Jenna is asking for us

“Jenna’s asking for Amber and me.”

“Go.” He patted me on the shoulder. “I got this.”

“Call me if you need me.”

He twisted the lock again, and we stepped into the hallway without another word, parting ways. Hastily, I hurried back to the waiting room, taking long strides down several corridors. The room was almost quiet, with only the low volume of the TV. Dylan had fallen asleep with a pillow and blanket I assumed to be from the staff. Jade peeked up at me with a sly grin, pointing at the screen.

Glancing up, I rolled my eyes, discovering myself on the TV in a romantic comedy I’d filmed several years ago. I brought my gaze back to hers. “Enjoy.”

“Oh I am,” she mocked.

I tried my best to mask my concern with a playful scoff. I reached out for Amber’s hand as she leaned in the doorway, waiting for me. “By the way, she dies at the end.”

“What?!” Her mouth fell agape. “Are you freaking serious? It’s been so wholesome.”

“I guess you’ll have to wait and see.”

“You ready?” Amber asked.

I nodded.

Squinting, she studied my expression. She entwined her fingers with mine as we navigated the hallway to Jenna’s room. Stopping halfway, she squeezed my hand. “Okay.”

I let go. “What?”

“Don’twhatme.” She balled her fists, resting them on her hips. “What’s going on with you?”
