He pressed his finger to her chin to tip her head toward him. “I want to ask if you’re sure, but I don’t want to press my luck. This has been all I have wanted since I first saw you. I don’t want to pressure you.”

“You can’t pressure me when it’s what I want too.”

“Oh, Amelia,” he groaned. “You’ve just made me the happiest man that ever was.” He kissed her nose, her forehead, her cheek, and finally, settled on kissing her passionately, tilting her head back to deepen the kiss. “We can wait to make things official. For now, we’re together, and that’s what matters.”

“I won’t change my mind,” she replied fervently.

“I know,” he smiled. “But let me be a gentleman about this.”

She grinned and nestled back into his arms. “You always are. It makes falling in love with you very easy.”

She felt rather than heard his chuckle. “I love you, Amelia.”

Her heart clenched in her chest.

“You don’t have to say it back, love. I know you haven’t told anyone probably for a long time. There’s no rush.”

Amelia took a deep breath and moved her head to look deep into Wilder’s eyes. “I do love you, Wilder.”

His entire face lit up, and he held her closer in his arms.

This, Amelia thought,thisis love.

TWENTY-FIVE

WILDER

Wilder couldn’t remember the last time he was this nervous. This stressed out. He probably hadneverfelt quite like this before.

After all, it wasn’t every day a man introduced his mate to his family.

“You better all behave,” Wilder barked at Ryland over the phone before the plane landed.

Ryland scoffed. “You think we would embarrass you?”

“Absolutely,” Wilder said without wasting a moment. “You will. Just tell Mom and the others that Amelia has been through a lot, and I won’t have her teased.”

“Tsk, tsk. You’re very protective of your girl.”

“Of course, I am. Are you going to tell me that you would be any different?”

“Nope. I’d say the same thing, but I’m not the alpha, so no one would listen to me.”

“I’m the alpha and youdon’tlisten to me,” he cut in.

Ryland laughed. “I know. This is gonna be so much fun.” He hung up before Wilder could respond.

“Fuck me,” he hissed under his breath.

“Is anything wrong?” Amelia asked.

“No. Not really. Just…” he sighed. “My family is going to be impossible. I don’t know how else to warn you.”

She grinned. “I’m sure it’ll be fine. I bet they’re just curious about the woman you kept secret for five years. And how you finally managed to get me all to yourself.”

Wilder frowned. Amelia wasn’t entirely his. Not yet. Europol had been reluctant to let Amelia fly back to her home country. They were scared it was a change of heart, no matter how many times she and Wilder assured the agents that she would never change her mind.

Greg had to be behind bars, and that was it.
