Wilder hadn’t spent this much time with so many people inyears. Now, he and his brothers were piled into an SUV on their way back to the city for a Blood Moon Agency meeting.

Axton, his Lupine cousin who ran the New York division for him, was meeting them at the BMA headquarters. The company was going to get a bit of an overhaul now that every senior member was mated—most of them with a kid on the way.

Wilder was 0 for 2 in that department, but it was only a matter of time. He was done waiting and putting obstacles in his own way. He loved Amelia, and she was choosing to be with him. He wouldn’t fight it anymore.

He would fight Greg Stevens and his lions to the end, but no longer would he fight fate.

As soon as he got the chance, and more importantly, as soon as he got the privacy, he would mate Amelia. Shit, he would even propose and marry her on the spot if she was okay with that.

Wilder had to push all thoughts of his love life to the side at the moment. As he expected, the whole BMA staff had been called in, and he had to be in fullalphamode.

Given that most of the staff were pack members, Wilder did the rounds as soon as he walked into the building. He inquired about everyone’s families and listened to any work problems.

He hadn’t done it in a while. Having half the pack on separate sides of the ocean wasn’t without its challenges. When he pointed this out to his gathered brothers and cousin a little while later, they all agreed. In fact, the conference room was filled with shouts ofduhandno shit!

“It was a good idea when the business was new,” Canaan pointed out.

“Yes, well, I believe it is still an advantage,” Wilder said. “I’ve just neglected this office a bit too much in the last five years.”

“We’ve been saying that,” Ryland teased.

“But we get it,” Canaan added. “At least, we get itnow. You know, five years without your mate. That’s hard. We’ve missed hanging out.”

Wilder sighed and tried to hide his smile. “And I really want to spend more time with you.”

“Fuck yeah,” Ryland cried.

Canaan rolled his eyes. “I’m going back to the compound as soon as this meeting is over. If you visit more often, Ryland will be all yours.”

“We could always crash your compound,” Wilder said.

Canaan’s mouth dropped. “Holy shit. Ryland! Did you hear that? Did our grumpy big brother just make a joke?”

“Shut up,” Wilder growled.

“Sure sounds like he did,” Ryland laughed. “That Amelia must have magic powers if you’re cracking jokes.”

“Anyway,” Wilder cut in. “All kidding aside, there are things we need to discuss. Axton, I would like to give you more responsibility,” Wilder explained.

“Whoa!” Ryland threw his head back with a laugh. “Are you seriously giving someone acompliment?”

Wilder frowned. “I didn’t.”

“Umm,” Axton chuckled. “You just said that you want to give me more work. In Wilder-speak, that is high praise.”

“Then don’t make me regret it,” he grumbled. “I think it’s time for the Lupine side of the family to get their just desserts.”

“Thanks, Wilder. I appreciate it. I won’t let you down,” Axton replied.

“You and your mate are starting a family, so if there is too much for you—”

“I’ve got people who can help,” Axton said. “Good people.”

“We’re a strong company because we’re a family,” Wilder said. “Every time we’ve faced a threat lately, we’ve proven that we’re going to be there for each other. No matter what. I’m proud of that. Of the Wolverton and Lupine packs.”

“Quick,” Ryland said. “Someone make a joke.”

“Why did the wolf cross the road?” Canaan asked.
