Ryland threw his head back with a laugh. “Who knew you were full of jokes?”

Wilder shrugged. “Amelia has that effect on me. I need to call her.”

“It’ll have to wait,” Ryland said. “The cops are here, and they want to talk to you about the scene they’ve just found.”

Wilder chuckled. “They’ll be mad we didn’t wait for them. Lemme clear this up.”

He dressed quickly and made his way out the front door. The three Europol agents had indeed arrived, followed by a small army of black vans. Gemma was the first to hop out. She rushed toward Wilder with fury in her eyes.

“Please tell me you didn’t take the law into your own hands.”

“Of course, I did,” he replied, beaming at her. “You were taking too long.”

Her nostrils flared. “If we had the same kind of resources as you do, we could also break the law.”

“Umm,” Ryland laughed. “Aren’t you the law?”

“You know what I mean,” Gemma snapped. “I wanted to be the one to catch Greg. I’ve been tracking him for years. He always wiggled out of my grasp.”

“He’s always been slippery,” Louise agreed.

“At least he will be behind bars now,” Harry comforted Gemma with a pat on the back. “He can’t hurt anyone.”

“Admit you wanted this collar,” Gemma said.

“Sure, but do you think we could have done this without pulling out guns and killing the lions? We’re just humans.” He shook hands with Wilder. “I can’t officially thank you for doing this, but know that wearepleased for your help.” He cast a glance in his partners’ direction. “No matter what they say.”

“You get all the credit,” Wilder pointed out.

“I’d ratherearnmy credit,” Gemma replied before stalking off toward the incapacitated lions. “This will have to do.”

“That’s basically Gemma-speak for thanks,” Harry explained.

Canaan clapped a hand on Wilder’s back. “We have one of those too.”

“Imagine that,” Harry laughed. “Now, if you’ll excuse us. We’re taking the lions and Stevens to a high-security prison. It’s been a pain in the ass, fortifying our cells to accommodate lions.” Harry and Louise joined Gemma, and soon, they were driving away with their new prisoners.

“That’s done, then,” Axton sighed. “Your mate is safe. Greg Stevens will never be able to get to her now.”

“I’m gonna let her know.” Wilder grabbed his phone and called Amelia.

“Wilder!” she answered after barely one ring. “Are you okay?”

“I’m fine, love. We are all. Well, no. Greg isn’t fine. He’s in police custody. They have enough evidence to put him away for a hundred years in the UK alone. There are a few other countries already fighting for extradition.”

“Oh! Is it really over?” Her voice shook with emotion.

“It is, Amelia. It’s over.”

“Wilder, you need to get back here right now. I want to be in your arms so badly.”

“Your wish is my command, love. We’ll be there as soon as the plane can get us. Spread the word to the other mates, will you?”

She wouldn’t have to. When Wilder joined the others, they were each on the phone, telling their women that all was well. It struck him. What change life had gone through in such a short time.

Wilder couldn’t wait to get back to Amelia. In fact, while he flew back to his love, he planned a surprise. Something just for her. Just for them.

It was high time Amelia’s happily ever after began.
