“Thank the Goddess,” she says, “And Jillian, my personal Goddess.”

“She’s a good friend,” I tell her.

She raises her eyebrows at me. “You like Jillian now?”

I smile. “Anyone who’d gut her own brother for you is okay by me.”

“Where is he?” she asks, as she steps back.

“Upstairs,” I tell her. “Passed out and being watched over by your coven.”

“He needs to be dead,” she tells me.

“That’s exactly what I was thinking when I walked out here.”

“Then, what are we waiting for?” she asks, raising an eyebrow at me.

I smile and take her hand in mine. “Let’s go make sure he can’t ever come back.”

Chapter sixty

Sean

Amandajustteleportedallof us outside the apartment perfectly. There was no three-foot gap from the ground, no feeling sick from the sudden change in scenery, nothing. She did it so damn smoothly I barely felt a thing. I’m still stunned by this when I turn to see her running toward Parker.

He does his usual snatching her up in his arms and swinging her, and I turn away when it looks like they’re having a private moment. I’m so damn glad she’s back to herself.

I knew it would be temporary, but that didn’t make it any less awful.

“What are we doing about Jake?” Dante asks me.

“What do we always do with threats to our pack?” I ask him.

“Well, sure,” he says. “But he’s not from here so do we take him out to the woods to bury him, or what?”

“Or what,” Jillian says. “I’d highly recommend you have one of the witches cremate him and send his ashes far, far away. Would you mind if I talk to him first? I kind of want to rub it in his face that I was right.”

“I don’t see why not,” Dante says, shrugging.

Parker reaches us with Amanda, and I give them a smile.

“All good?” I ask.

“We will be,” Amanda tells me. “As soon as Jake is gone.”

“Gone?”

“Dead,” Parker confirms.

“Is it kind of weird that it’s Valentine’s Day?” Dante asks.

“Personally, I think it’s romantic,” Parker says.

“Oh, you would,” Dante tells him.

I shake my head as I lead everyone inside.

Jake’s still laying on the floor when we get upstairs, but he’s awake. Rachel and Cheryl are sitting on the floor next to him, with Shannon by their side.
