“I love you, Cam Newton. You’re my second chance.” I paused for a minute, not wanting to let the moment gettoosappy. “Now, get in the car so we can go home and I can fuck you until the sun comes up.”

Cam tipped his head back and laughed. “Yes, Chef.” He slid into the car and we headed home so I could make good on my promise.

Epilogue - Six Months Later

Cam

Standingintheprivateroom at Metamorphosis, I looked around to ensure everything was perfect. It was Parker’s thirtieth birthday and I wanted the party to go off without a hitch. The cupcakes were by the door, there was a gift table piled with alcohol, and our friends were all waiting expectantly for Parker to come through the doors.

My phone buzzed with an incoming text and I glanced at it, excitement lighting me up inside.

Oliver: He’s here… and he brought someone.

Oh shit.I hadn’t expected that second part. I shoved the phone back in my pocket. “Okay, he’s here,” I called to the room, and everyone stopped talking. All I could hear were the diners in other parts of the restaurants, the low sounds of commotion that all restaurants seemed to have.

“Right this way, gentlemen.” Cara’s voice was loud against the quiet of the room. The door to the room slid open and Parker stepped inside.

The room erupted in sound. “Surprise!”

Parker took a stumbling step back, eyebrows sky-high. “What?” He looked at the person he’d brought to dinner, who shrugged.

I rushed forward and pulled Parker into a hug. “Happy birthday, old man,” I murmured. When I stepped back to look at him, he was grinning and shaking his head.

“You asshole. You told me it was boys’ night!”

I shrugged. “Sorta?”

He ran a hand over his face. “I brought a date to my own birthday party.” He looked back at the guy behind him. “Sorry. I had no idea.”

“It’s fine. Happy birthday.”

Parker cleared his throat. “This is Ian. Ian, these are my friends.Allof my friends.”

I lifted my hand in a little wave. “Cam. Come on in. Food will be here soon, and Oliver’s making enough to feed an army.”

Park finally looked around for the first time and noted the cupcakes and beyond that, the booze table. “What’s all this?”

“The cupcakes are for later. The alcohol… that’s your gift. I told everyone to bring a bottle or six pack of something.”

He grinned. “That was an excellent idea.”

“I try.” I laughed. “Seriously, come mingle and say hi to your guests.” I walked back over to our core group of friends, while Parker made the rounds, greeting everyone who’d attended. Not only had I roped our friends into throwing the party, I’d managed to track down some of his coworkers, his family, and some of his non-kickball friends.

As Park made the rounds, his date following close behind, I turned to chat with the guys. “We did it.” I hadn’t been sure we were going to be able to pull off a surprise. Parker was too clever and picked up on things quickly.

“You did it,” Bennett said. “I’m impressed.”

“Yeah, we barely helped at all,” Theo pointed out. “You’re turning into quite a party planner.”

Jared nodded. “I can’t believe you managed to make all this happen. He’d better be grateful—this is amazing.”

“It’s not hard when your husband is a chef and owns his own space,” I said.

Levi laughed and took a sip of his drink. “Your husband is super hot. It better be hard.”

Everyone laughed and a few moments later Parker joined us.

“What’s so funny over here?”
