“Not as beautiful as you.” He tucked her hair behind her ears.

She peered at him through her lashes and caught his smoldering gaze. Her heart skipped, and the tingling she felt became a surge of electricity flowing through her body. Her lips suddenly longed to touch his. To feel their warmth. “Kiss me.” She whispered.

Slowly, he closed the space between them. Gently, their lips touched. The electricity flowed.

The kiss exploded.

His hands held her tightly, making her feel safe, and slowly caressed her back and into her hair.

A soft moan escaped from her as she melted into him.

Even though the kiss deepened, it wasn’t rushed. It wasn’t desperate. It was calm, sweet, relaxed. Just like her heart when she was with him.

He lowered her onto the grass. It was so soft and thick it felt like a satin cushion beneath her. He stopped to unbutton his pants as she did hers, and she shimmied her way out of them and had to kick off her boots to finish the job.

Tristan unbuttoned her shirt, and it opened her skin bare to the cool air around them. Tristan leaned over her and caressed her stomach with his lips, then her neck, and brushed his hand over her cheek.

“I love you.” He whispered as his eyes burned their way into her soul.

Her hand came up to his face, and she combed her fingers through his hair. “I love you, too.” And she did. She loved him so much she was scared her heart was going to explode.

They held each other’s gaze and searched each other’s faces and bodies.

Finally, their lips met in a slow, sweet, delicate kiss.

Tristan finally placed his naked body over hers, slipped on a condom, and slid into her. They made love, slow and careful, and with no rush.

It filled Stacey’s heart with happiness. She held him close. Moved with him. The world fell away. Even the birds ceased to exist.

They rode slowly back to the stables.

It was a perfect afternoon.

Stacey was amazed that someone who was brought up with all this was still able to be so loving, so affectionate. Her horse stayed right behind him, and she watched how he moved effortlessly with his horse. His back was strong, confident, and muscular. His hair was blowing softly.

He turned in his saddle and smiled that smile which always stopped her heart. “You good?”

She nodded. “Perfect.”

He easily hopped out of his saddle when they got close to the barn. He held her reins as she placed her feet back on the earth. They walked the horses into the barn and got them settled for the night.

They were cleaned up and headed toward the main house in Tristan’s truck.

Stacey was starving. “I’ve had such a good time today. And thank you for being you.”

“What do you mean by that?” He pulled next to Adler’s jeep away from the rest of the crowd.

Stacey turned to him. “All this. It’s so amazing, and I’ll be honest, it’s a lot overwhelming. You’ve grown up with all this, yet you don’t let it get to your head, showing off your money and acting spoiled. Like Adler.”

“He’s not that bad.”

She raised an eyebrow.

“He grows on you.”

Stacey smiled. Yeah, he does. She nodded. “So even though I wish you would have been a little more honest, I can see you don’t see this as who you are. It’s just where you grew up.”

Tristan grabbed her hand, and a serious look crossed his face.
