“Now, don’t go throwing shade at my VP,” Tippy warned her, his voice growing cold. “I’ll throw you right back out onto the streets if you pull that kind of attitude.”

Her eyes widened. “I didn’t—”

“I’ll deal with her, but she’sstaying.” I didn’t usually like going up against the president of the club, but I wasnotletting Hannah out of my sight again—no matter who it was after her.

Tippy glared at me, but then sighed. “You’re just worried about what Vinny will think—and I get it, he was a friend of your dad’s, but dude, she’s not worth it.”

Hannah’s face contorted with hurt, her eyes darting between the three of us as we all went quiet. “I just need to make a call.”

“No, you don’t.” I pushed myself up from the couch, grimacing as the pain intensified. “Let’s go.”

“No,” she snapped at me. “I’m calling Vinny.”

“I’ll call him for you.”

“Just let her go.” Tippy rolled his eyes at me. “Like, who gives a shit what the woman does?”

“He does, obviously,” Gunner groaned, running his hands through his hair. “And I didn’t fucking get tackled by hotel security andchaseher all the way here just to send her back out to the street. No way.”

“Shut up, prospect,” Tippy barked, causing Gunner to jump sideways. “You’ll do whatever we tell you to.”

I shook my head at both of them. Gunner should’ve known better than to spout off in front of Tippy, and Tippy was being an asshole about everything...

But that’s just because he hated the old-timers.

“Let’s go,” I said to Hannah, pointing back to the hall that led to my room before turning to Gunner. “Go get her bags.”

“Got it.” Gunner gave me a quick nod and slipped past Tippy, dodging a backhanded slap to the shoulder.

“I really should just call Vinny. He said to keep him updated—and this seems like something that he might want to be updated about.” Hannah’s voice was more timid than before. “I don’t want to cause problems.”

I laughed. “You’ve already caused enough problems.”

“Okay, but seriously. I don’t think he wants me here, and with everything that’s happened... I just think that maybe it would be better if I just take my chances and leave—”

“No.”

How many times was she going to try and bail?

I pulled out my phone with my good hand as we stepped into my room, scrolling to Vinny’s name. I hit the call button and put the call on speakerphone.

“Hey, Ronny,” Vinny’s voice came over the phone. “What did she do this time?”

“Hey,” Hannah called out, her voice taking this cute little whiny tone. I looked over at her, her brows furrowed.

“Ah, you must’ve done something to be on speakerphone.” Vinny’s tone went dim, and a heavy sigh came through the phone. “I told you just to do whatever they asked you to.”

“She’s being difficult,” I lied, shooting her an amused smile as she appeared surprised. “But we are calling because there’s been some things that have happened. She’s staying at the clubhouse now—looks like I might’ve made an enemy, and they might have connected Hannah to me. I don’t know for sure, but I think it’s best that she stays here.”

“Something happen at the hotel, Hannah?”

“Yeah, kind of.”

“I trust that Ronny has it handled for now. Just do what he says. If he doesn’t think it’s safe for you to leave, then it’s not safe. You’ve got a good head on your shoulders, Hannah. You need to trust your gut with all this. You’ve been in much more dangerous situations. You can handle it.”

“But Tippy doesn’t want me here,” she pointed out. “I really don’t want to cause problems.”

“No one cares what he thinks,” Vinny shot back, his dislike for the new president evident. “Just stay with Ron—Viper, and everything will be just fine. Like I said, I’m coming south next week. I know you can make it until then. Viper, she’ll leave with me.”
