“I did, must have been the busy crowd that we didn’t spot each other.” I lie. “Anything new with you?” I questioned.

“Not really, you know me, I’m a busy man. Don’t have much time for anything but work.” He evades.

He glimpses at me with curiosity, “So, you’re thinking of opening the gallery in a couple of months? I thought you wanted to wait another year?”

I close my eyes for a second and think of the captivating woman waiting for me, “That’s because I wasn’t sure of myself, but I am now. If you want to pull your investment you still can.”

Foster shakes his head, “No, I trust you. If you believe in this gallery, then so do I.”

My phone vibrates and I excuse myself so that I can read it. It’s a text from my driver.

Taurus seems to be upset about something. I can see tears in her eyes. I'm not sure what happened. She does not want me to take you to her, but I thought I should still inform you.

-Jae

What the fuck happened?

Bring her to me, please.

-Ru

“I apologize. I’m going to have to cut the meeting short, Foster. I have an emergency.” I get out of there as fast as possible.

He nods and I take the elevator down to the entrance and wait outside for Jae to bring Taurus to me.

Seconds later the car stops, and I get into the car. “Ru?” She looks at me confused with puffy red eyes.

“What happened?” My vexation boils up to the scenarios running through my head.

She shutters and I can see the tears fall from her eyes again. “I’m sorry.” She continues to repeat.

“For what?” I ask, pushing her hair out of her face.

My eyes soften as I watch her try to get her words out. “I didn’t want to cry in front of you again.” She chokes out. “Greyson came to the suite and I’m guessing he didn’t know I was there. We fought and he said some hurtful things that my mother used to say. That I’m weak and a burden and I just didn’t want you to see me that way…” She cries.

“You are far from weak, Taurus. Most certainly not a burden either.” I pull her into my arms.

She wipes away her tears, “Two people that I’ve loved won’t love me back, and I don’t want to do this a third time, but I also don’t want to give up. I want to be enough for myself, but I’m struggling.”

“Self-acceptance is difficult. I’m not even there yet myself, but I think we can support each other in getting there. You are not alone. I’m here, for as long as you want me.”

Taurus nods and exhales. “I’m sorry about your meeting.”

“Don’t worry. We finished all the crucial factors.” I reassure her.

“I have never wanted to go back home so quickly before.” She tries to laugh as she wipes more tears away. It warms my heart that she considers the house her home.

We got back to the hotel so that I can collect the rest of our belongings left in the room, while Taurus waits in the car. When I walk through the door, Greyson is sitting on a chair.

“I figured you would still be here.” I sigh.

Greyson scoffs, “You would know that if you weren’t busy fucking my fiancé.”

“Ex,” I correct. “I’m sorry about the uncomfortable situation I have put us in.”

“Are you fucking kidding me?Uncomfortable? That’s the way you want to describe the situation. Don’t you feel sick fucking your son’s ex-fiancé, or even the fact that she’s fifteen years younger than you? Does any of that ring any fucking alarms?!” He shouts getting up from his seat.

“Funny enough, her mother is sixteen years older than you. So, it’s only sick for me to do it? It’s a bit hypocritical, Greyson.” I retort. “Even though you have been nothing but horrible to Taurus, I still apologize for involving myself with her, as your father I shouldn’t have done it, but I won’t apologize for what I feel. I’m not sure what I feel for that woman, but there is something there. It will only continue to grow the more time I spend with her. That won’t change, and I won’t stop it from growing. You are no longer a child; you are responsible for your actions just as I am accountable for mine. This will be the last time I tell you, do not go anywhere near Taurus again.”
