“Who says the object would be to do business?” Austin raises his eyes to mine. “Maybe I just want to feel her mouth around me while we both know they could catch us.”

“We all have fantasies,” I agree.

Audrey pins me with a look. “What’s yours?”

I rub my bottom lip as I think about it. “Probably taking you right after a win in the ring, with the same energy.”

Her eyebrows go up into her hairline. “Like in front of the crowd?”

“No, for my eyes only, in the dressing room.” Just the thought has me expanding in my pants, and I tug at the fabric to ease some of the growing pressure.

“That’s lame,” Felix says.

Audrey swats his chest. “It’s hot, not lame. What is your fantasy?” She rolls her head up to look at him.

He laughs. “I like the idea of being caught, too. But actually being caught and not stopping,” he admits. “Like today, if we ignored my parents and just kept going.”

“What do you mean, your fucking parents?” Austin demands, tense for a brand new reason. And I don’t blame him. After what they did to Felix, neither of us can even tolerate the idea of them.

Felix waves him off. “Don’t worry, I had my omega with me, and she protected me from them.” He rubs her shoulder and grins down at her.

“How did our little hellcat do that?” I ask as a wide smile pulls at her lips.

“I was pretty sure she was going to beat them to the ground, like someone else we know, but she used her words.”

“My words?” She snorts out a laugh.

“She called themjudgemental sacks of shit,” he chortles out a breathy laugh. “You should have seen their faces. Priceless. And when they found out I was an alpha, God, I wish you two were there to see it. It felt so good.”

His words ease the growing tension, and both Austin and I settle back into our seats.

“I’m glad you finally got to tell them where to go,” I say.

“Me too. It feels like a weight that had been holding me down has been lifted. It is freeing in a way I didn’t know I needed.”

Audrey runs her fingers over the side of his face, adoration painted on her features. “You were so strong.”

He shakes his head, capturing her hand against his skin. “You were the strong one, and it allowed me to be what you needed.”

“Okay, enough of the sappy shit. I need to hold my omega for a while. It was a long day,” I say and drag her from Felix’s arms. She nuzzles into my neck and molds to my body in the most perfect way.

“A long day?” Austin scoffs. “Who is the brains of the operation? All you had to do was put an offer on a building.”

“And deal with your shit all day,” I add.

“Was Daddy Zade awful today?” she asks.

“The worst,” I say.

He growls, and we both laugh.

CHAPTER55

Felix

When they disappearinto Saint’s room for some alone time, I heave a heavy sigh. Today was a lot. I hadn’t lied earlier when I said I felt relief. But there is a sort of sadness and guilt at the feeling of freedom.

Who knew finally being free from their overbearing judgment would bring either emotion to the surface?
