He sighs and rubs his forehead. “I found it when I was looking for something else. I didn’t even know it existed.”

“You should burn it.” I toss it back onto his desk. “Your dad is dead. Her dad is dead. No one would even know.”

“But I would know. You would know.” He takes a long drink of his bourbon.

“Yeah, thanks for that, asshole.”

He swivels in his seat, facing the glass and looking out at the darkening city. “What if we show her? Tell her it means nothing.”

I lean forward, my elbows on my knees, hands loose between my legs. “If she runs–”

He turns back slightly, half his face cast in shadow. “She won’t.”

There is a threat in his tone, one I know well. If she thinks me kidnapping her and putting her back into her plush room in the penthouse was bad, what Austin would do would be more extreme.

“You know that just because she wears our marks doesn’t make it a done deal, right?”

“I know all about the birds and the bees talk. It will be permanent with her next heat. And since she has been riding the edge of one since that injection, I’m sure it will be soon.”

“Don’t fuck this up for us, Austin,” I warn.

“Our omega is just that, ours. Nothing and nobody will change that.”

I hope he’s right, but I can’t shake a feeling in my gut that the letter on his desk is going to ruin everything.

Felix and Audreyare cuddled on the couch, watching a movie when we finally get home. Take out litters the table in front of them. I flick my attention to the TV for a moment as the sappy romantic Christmas movie plays on it.

A small town romance, the omega probably left her big city job to rescue a town from some terrible alphas. Then they all fall in love and live happily ever after. Christmas is saved.

“Hey, don’t judge my choice of movie,” Audrey says, picking up on my opinion pretty easily. She tosses a kernel of popcorn at me with a giggle. “I’m in a sappyeveryone lives happily ever afterkind of mood.”

Austin settles in his armchair without a word, a besotted look on his face. He is as far gone for Audrey as Felix and I are.

“Sounds fun,” I say and drop to the seat next to her after lifting her legs up and placing them on my lap. I absently massage her feet as her attention turns back to the screen.

She is captivating as she watches the movie play out. Emotion dances on her face, as the credits roll along with the happy tears down her cheeks, she looks around at us and realizes that none of us paid the movie any attention.

She wiggles her toes in my grip, and I move my hand to her calve muscle, massaging her lower leg for a moment.

“How was work?” she asks, glancing between us.

Austin sighs. “Terrible without you there to push my buttons.”

“Awe, does Daddy Zade want his omega at work with him?” She fake pouts and bats her eyes at him.

I chuckle when a low growl emanates from his direction. “Careful or you’ll end up draped over his lap getting his special sort of discipline.”

She arches her foot and rubs her toes over my dick, ensuring that it wakes up and takes notice. “Maybe I like spankings.”

I’m sure she does.

“I want you with me in my office,” Austin admits. “But you’d probably be on your knees, under my desk.”

She hums, a smile playing on her lips. “Your dirty little secret? Hidden away? Would you be meeting people?”

Felix snorts. “I’d like to see you meet people with her under your desk. I’m sure you wouldn’t be able to do one bit of business.”
