How was she so irresistible?

I laced my fingers in her hair and traced my thumb along her hairline.

She sucked in a sharp breath, and flicked her tongue over her bottom lip again. I wanted to be the one doing the licking.

“Evie.” Gage’s call made my heart slam into my ribs, and shifted the tension in the air. “You left your— Huh.” He rounded the corner and stopped, as he stared at us.

He looked good without the hair, but not as good as he had with it.

“Socket wrench set.” Evie didn’t pull away from me. “I left it in your truck.”

There was a thunk as Gage put said wrenches on a nearby shelf. “Are we having this conversation now?”

“Sawyer’s going to stop bugging me,” Evie said.

“Not what I said.” I tightened my grip on her hair, and she gasped.

Evie’s smirk was the sexiest thing. “True. That’s not what he said.”

“Does Sawyer know how to share?” Gage was focused on Evie, but I had a feeling the question was meant for me.

“Sawyer’s never been very good at that.” Great, they had me referring to myself in third person. “But he might make an exception for this.”

Gage’s phone rang.

“Oh. My. God.” Evie huffed. “Are these interruptions scripted?”

Gage looked at his phone. “It’s Knox. I gotta go.” He approached us and kissed Evie on the cheek I wasn’t covering, then glanced at me. “I trust her.” He walked away, answering his phone as he walked.

“What does that mean?” I asked when he was gone.

“It means he trusts me.”

“You two drive me insane.”

“And you love every minute of it.”

This was too much. And not enough. And so bizarre. I nipped her bottom lip. “Not every minute.” I bit harder, earning me another gasp. “But I do like quite a few of them.” I kissed her, and she leaned into the gesture, pressing her body to mine. Digging her fingers into the back of my neck. “So what now?” I asked between kisses.

“Be more specific.”

“You. Me. Gage… He doesn’t have a problem with it?” I couldn’t stop kissing her. Tasting her.

She dragged her nails up my back. “He and I talked.”

About me? They said good things?

“We decided he and I could be together and still see where things go with you,” Evie said.

“That sounds… vague.” I nipped her earlobe.

She tilted her head, giving me a better angle. “Unless you have a more specific answer, vague is what we have until we figure it out.”

Her body was hard and soft at the same time, and I wanted to keep holding her. “No answers. Just curiosity,” I said.

“Me too. So you gonna stick around long enough to figure it out?”

“I think I might.” But in the very immediate future, as in now, I was tempted to lift her up and see how sturdy her store shelves were. I also wanted this to be about more than sex. “Should we get to work?”
