With a polite smile, she shakes his hand. “Hi, I am Alisha.”

I frown. She didn’t greet or smile at me. Can’t she see I am standing here? Am I invisible?

“Your beauty is a feast for eyes. I have never used this word for a girl before but you are gorgeous.” He shakes his head. “No, I mean ravishing. God! I am running out of words here.” Akshay opens his damn mouth in that charming voice which annoys me.

Her cheeks turn red as her smile turns into a grin. “I guess, thank you.”

“He is so dead,” I mumble under my breath, and that’s when her eyes find mine. I wonder if I said it aloud?

“I am glad you came,” she gives me a small smile.

“I said I would. I don’t go back on my words,” I say, applicable to more than just this instance. And I hope she gets that.

She nods her head, her nonchalance not revealing whether she got the meaning behind those words or not.

Akshay moves to stand beside her as he faces me. “Anyway, tell me one thing. Is there any way I can convince you that I am a better bet for marriage than this idiot?”

I clench my jaw and throw him a venomous glare. He is getting on my nerves now. How dare he even suggest that?

Alisha’s eyes turn wide as she stutters. “I… ah… I… I’ll go meet Misha. She must be in the changing room I guess,” she mumbles as she turns and walks away. Damn! She is looking sexy as fuck in that attire. There should be a dress code in here. And the air conditioning should be max to cool down the heated body, even without moving a muscle.

“You will hate to hear this….” Akshay says, “I cannot help but think I have found my…”

“If you wish to stay alive, then don’t you dare say a word,” I glare at him enough to make him aware it’s not funny.

More people have started streaming in. A few minutes later, Alisha and Misha step into the room.

Misha claps her hands together to get everyone’s attention. “Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. I am Misha, your instructor for today, and this is my friend, Alisha, who will be assisting me. So let us begin today’s class.”

“Your fiancée is hot. How do I keep my eyes off her?”

I turn and glare at him. Didn’t he get the message before? “How about I pull your eyes out and make it easy?”

He lets out a gruff laugh that further adds to my annoyance. I roll my eyes and follow along as Misha shows us a few warm-up exercises and starts explaining the benefits of performing them before the workout, which neither Akshay nor I pay attention to.

“Can you stop ogling at my wife, fucker?” I grit my teeth while squatting when Misha instructs us to.

Akshay clumsily follows as he turns his head and faces me. “The hell I can’t. I am a guy and not blind. And for your record, you both have still not tied the knot. Also, if my memory serves me right, you didn’t want this marriage.”

I stop my squats and glare at him. “You are not going to leave this place alive; I assure you.”

“Are you jealous?” He asks with a knowing grin, showing his teeth, which I intend to break.

Yes, I am jealous, but I don’t agree with him. Instead, I push him on his shoulder, which makes him lose his balance, and he bumps into the girl next to him. She turns to yell at him, but when her eyes fall on him, she replaces her angry look with a cocky grin.

“Do you need something?”

“No thanks.” Akshay turns, shooting me a dirty look, while I just flip him off.

Forty-five minutes later, Akshay and I are hobbling our way out of the gym.

“My legs are killing me. This wreck of a class has injured all my body organs, Bro.”

“I was informed it would be an easy-going workout session,” I say as I observe all the others bouncing near us like it’s their daily routine to bend their bodies in a pretzel.

“You are a monster. You tricked me into this. I take all my friendship vows back,” he grumbles, glaring at me.

“Aren’t you being a bit melodramatic here? It was not that bad. See? I am all good.” I attempt to stand straight and not let the telling pain show on my face. The fire from his eyes might have burnt me but Alisha appears just in time.
