When I slapped him playfully, he growled. “You better or else.”

His laugh could send a thrill right through me. “Well, I guess I can make an exception.” He backed away, taking his time moving to the edge of the canvas. “Are you ready?”

“Oh, I’m ready.”

He tugged on the material, allowing it to fall naturally. I had to blink in order to take it all in.

“That’s… me.”

The painting was incredible, the colors so vibrant that I was almost blinded. It was from our night spent together in the little studio when I’d been able to let go, completely free around him.

“Our new house?”

“Absolutely, beautiful doll. Anything you want you can have. We’re also going to purchase one in Key West since I know you love it there so much.”

He’d chosen one of the pictures when I was wearing a mask. With the paint I was almost unrecognizable. “It’s beautiful.” God, I adored the man.

“Not nearly as beautiful as you are. My one true love.”

And I considered myself to be the luckiest woman in the world.

I had a huge family.

And I had a future so bright I could see the stars in my sleep.

What more could a girl ask for?

The End
