"Your sister is here."

I turn to face her. "Tell her I'll be down in just a second."

She covers her mouth with her hands. "Oh, dear. You are gorgeous."

"Thank you." I smile and walk into my room.

I grab my purse, then slide into a pair of red bottom heels. I take a deep breath and look in the mirror, reminding myself that I can handle whatever comes my way tonight.

As I stand in front of the mirror, lost in my thoughts, I feel a pair of strong arms wrap around me from behind, and I know it's Wayne. His presence brings a sense of calm and reassurance, and I can't help but smile as he whispers in my ear, "You look absolutely breathtaking, my love."

I turn around to face him, and his eyes sparkle with admiration. "Tonight is your night, Leslie," he says, his voice filled with conviction. "You are strong, beautiful, and capable of handling anything that comes your way. Moey Dash and her actions don't define you. You have risen above it all, and I couldn't be prouder of the incredible person you are."

His words fill me with newfound strength, and I feel the weight of anxiety lifting from my shoulders. Wayne's love and unwavering support have always been my rock, and I cherish these moments when he reminds me of my worth.

He holds me tighter, and I can sense our passion and desire burning. Our lips meet in a tender kiss filled with love and reassurance. The moment's intensity makes my heart race but also fills me with a sense of groundedness.

This is it.

This is us.

This is our forever.

Him supporting me and loving me.

Me loving him back, supporting him.

Reluctantly, we pull away and end the kiss, our foreheads resting against each other. Wayne looks into my eyes and says, "I want you to have an incredible time tonight, Les. Remember, I'll be right here, supporting you from a distance…every step of the way."

I want to say screw going out and stay here in our home with him, where it’s safe and filled with love and passion. But alas, I must face the night I’ve made such a big deal about.

I grab my purse and slip into the red bottom heels at the bed's edge. Fully dressed with the armor of love and self-confidence, I’m ready to embrace whatever lies ahead.

I smile as I glance at myself in the mirror one last time. I must agree with Wayne and Marjorie. I look damn good.

With Wayne's hand in mine, we make our way downstairs to join my sister.

This night is about reclaiming my power and solidifying my place in these spaces, and with Jasmine by my side, we’re both ready to empower or check anyone that gets in our faces—depending on which one of us you ask.

We smile giddily, momentarily admiring each other's outfits. I'm wearing a sleek black dress with my favorite red bottoms, accompanied by an off-the-shoulder wrap blouse. Jasmine is wearing a strapless black dress paired with a bright yellow jacket.

"You look really nice," I say to her.

"You’re looking good, too," she replies. "Let's get going."

“Have a great time,” Wayne leans in and kisses my neck, sending tingles down south. “And hurry back to me.”

I blow him an air kiss. “I will be back as soon as possible.”

As we walk outside, heels clacking against the pavement, Jasmine announces, “I’ll drive because when I get ready to go, we’re leaving.”

I stop in front of my jeep and chuckle. “Girl, get in the car. I’m not doing this with you. It’s too early for mess, and we’re not having any tonight,” I remind her of the same thing I have reminded her for the past week. She obviously has other plans for the night. She always has a set of secondary plans that amaze me.

She gets into the passenger side, fake pouting. “We’re still leaving if either of us is uncomfortable.”

“Okay,” I agree.

Allure is the name of the venue, so I put it into the GPS and head in that direction.
