She freezes and when she slightly shakes her head no, I grin.

“Last night I was helping Smoke get dressed to leave the hospital. He teased me about having to do the action soon when we have kids since we’re always fucking like rabbits. That got me remembering about when you thought your period would arrive. Patch asked me if you’ve had it since being her. I told them no. So, the other test he wants us to take is a home pregnancy test. He figured we’d want to know sooner than the bloodwork will show us.”

Her hands hesitantly go to her stomach and tears well in her eyes. “He drugged me, Liam. I don’t know what was in it. What if, whatever it was, hurt the baby if I really am pregnant?”

“Based on what you said, he thinks it was a sedative, but Patch did take your bloodwork in to see if they could find anything out about that as well.”

“Holy shit,” she whispers, then shakes herself.

I hold my hands out and she eyes them skeptically. “Baby, I’ve had my hands inside your body before. I’m not worried about a little pee on them.”

Her cheeks tinge pink but she places her hands in mine. I help get her started, but for the most part, she rises on her own.

When her hands are back on the counter, she nods. “Okay. Under the sink is a box of pregnancy tests. Open it and pull out the instructions,” she says as she slowly bends at the knees and moves to pick up the urine hat.

“I can get that–”

She gives me a look, and I shut my mouth as I reach under the sink to get the box I’d found earlier, but keep an eye on her as well.

Carefully, she pours the contents into the cup and washes her hands. Patting them dry, she clears her throat.

“What do the instructions say?”

“For the cup, dip the stick into it for ten seconds, making sure to keep the tip pointed downward for the duration of the testing. Replace the cap and lay flat for three minutes and the words ‘pregnant’ or ‘not pregnant’ will appear.”

“Okay. Get a timer ready for ten seconds,” she tells me, her hands shaking slightly as she opens the test.

My hands shake as I place the test down on the counter. “Three minutes now.”

Liam starts the timer and I turn, feeling exhaustion pulling at me again. Opening the door, my cheeks flame at seeing Kai right there.

“Well?” he asks, and my cheeks flame hotter.

“Does everyone know?” I ask as I give Timber a side-eyed look. He blushes slightly and ducks his head. Great. Just great.

“Levi and the club members do. You can thank your dad for that one, Lil’ Bit. Though to be fair, it was probably more the pain meds. He came in last night after we got him back here, and the guys started giving him shit for being here. He said this was his daughter and grandbaby we’re talking about. That he was going to be a part of the planning and be on the camera side of things. Not to mention, the front team ended up needing his help since the original entrance we wanted to use had been sealed tight.”

“Sorry, Baby Girl,” Dad winces, but I don’t know if it’s from his pain or about what he said last night.

“Well, in three minutes, we’ll find out if you’re a liar or not.”

Kai pushes the walker closer to me and I gingerly take my time crossing the room to our bed.

“I’m surprised my arms and legs didn’t fall asleep earlier.”

“Patch told us to make sure to move you periodically to help with that.”

I lower myself back onto the bed and release a deep breath. “I’m glad they did, because this would have been hard if they had been numb. Or I might have freaked out because I couldn’t move.”

Liam’s phone beeps, interrupting what Kai was going to say. Turning toward the bathroom, I wait for him to step out, anxious to see what the results say.

He appears in the doorway, but his face doesn’t give anything away. Crossing the room, he kneels before me and cups my cheeks before kissing me. After a few moments, he leans down and kisses my belly. My eyes widen at the gesture and Kai whoops in excitement.

“We’re having a baby?” I whisper.

“We’re having a baby,” he replies as he kisses me again.

“You ready to break out of the room, get some food, and tell everyone the good news?”
