She pulls away from me and stands up. “No, I don’t want to leave. It’s wrong and right all at the same time.” She starts pacing around, biting that bottom lip of hers while her long pale blonde hair blows with the gentle breeze she’s creating. I reach out and snag her hand stopping her movements.

“What is it?” I have to touch her to feel sane again.

The tears in her eyes are breaking me. “I’m sorry about what he did to your family. I wish that I could make it better, take it back or even replace them with my life. I can’t imagine the pain you’re going through right now.” I’m killing off her family and she feels sorry for me. “I get that it sounds crazy, but even though you went there to harm me, you became my savior.”

I can’t hear Katya talk about my previous thoughts, so I pull her to my chest, silencing the dark past. “I was never going to kill you.” It’s the truth even if I tried to act tough. From the start I had nothing against her, but the fact of the matter was I couldn’t let Vlad have anything left.

She lifts her head to look at me. “But you were going to hurt me.”

Shaking my head, I disagree. “I didn’t know what to do with you even before I saw you. Alek was right. Above all, you were just as innocent as my brother, and I had no right to come after you.”

She smiles and then frowns. “I’m glad you did. They were going to sell me.”

“I overheard Olga’s comments to you that night. You couldn’t imagine the anger I felt for a complete stranger. It shocked me.”

Katya presses her hand over my chest. “He never loved me; he let Olga beat me. I tried to tell him, hoping it would stop, but he said I deserved it. I needed to learn how to behave like a dutiful wife.”

“So, he planned on marrying you off to someone?” Rage consumes me at the thought of her belonging to anyone else when she was always meant to be mine. I’m tempted to hunt down anyone who even knew of her existence and end them just in case they wanted her for themselves.

“I can only assume so. Why keep me alive all these years if he wanted nothing to do with me? You came in and gave me a taste of what the real world was like. Even if you don’t want to marry me anymore and want to send me away, I’ll have had a taste of what happiness can be.”

Gripping her tightly, I press my hardened length against her mound. “I told you I’m never letting you so you can get that shitty idea out of your head. We’ll get married when you are ready, my Princess.”

“What about my father?” Just the mention of him turns my veins to ice.

Looking into her eyes, I give her the honesty I’d held back since we met. “I’m going to have to kill him.”

“He’s not going to give up until he kills you.” Her genuine fear for my safety is sweet and heartwarming, and it gives me hope that after all is said and done she won’t despise me for what I have to do.

“He’s a trapped rat, but I won’t let him take me out. Now kiss me before I lose my mind.” She throws her arms around me, and I feel whole again the second her lips touch mine.

“I need your kisses. I’m sorry I broke the watch.”

“You didn’t break it. I did, but I still should have practically tackled you.”

“I thought it was kind of nice.”

“Katya, you surprise every chance you get.”

“Well, I’m learning new things every day.” She winks at me, and I can’t resist kissing her again. The way she feels in my arms is incredible.

She gently pulls away and looks up at me nervously. “Is my father still out there?”

“I don’t know where he fled to in the U.S., but he’s gone running.”

“Does that mean we’re safe for now?” The brightness in her eyes sends my cold heart soaring for this beauty.

“You’ll always be safe with me.”

She kisses me, and then I lose it, carrying her over to the bed. “It’s time to make up for lost time.”

“I need you, Roman. Love me.”

“Forever.” Slowly, I strip her clothes down, taking care to kiss every inch of her body until I have her worked up. Then my hips slide between hers, and my cock pushes its way into her tight hole, claiming her in gentle, blissful passion.

Her body moves with mine, rocking with every roll of my hips. “I need you to tell me you’re staying forever, Katya, my Princess.”

“I never want to leave you, Roman.”
