I used my other hand to push a random strand of hair behind her ear. “We need to have a serious talk, baby.”

Her entire frame sagged with the weight of dating me. “I know.”

I grabbed her other hip with my hand. “I’m not letting you go, Lux,” I told her. “I think that’s something that you need to understand while we talk this out. I’m not giving you up for anything.”

Her green eyes regarded me carefully. “And what am I supposed to do with that?’

“Just keep it in mind while we argue,” I repeated.

“Fine,” she said, letting out the biggest sigh ever. “Let’s do this.”

The woman had no idea.

Chapter 28

Lux~

Iwas still stewing over Titan’s highhanded ways, but since he was absolutely unapologetic about it, what was there left to do? It was hard to argue a point with someone that didn’t care if their actions were wrong or not. Titan was laying down his expectations, and I imagined that this must be what it felt like to face him on that soccer field.

Choosing a safer topic than the two of us, I asked, “What are you going to do about Rachel and Aubrey?”

Titan’s blue eyes narrowed. “I don’t want to talk about them.”

“Am I or am I not still your PR agent?” I asked. “Because if I am, then I’d like to know.”

Titan arched a brow. “And as my PR agent, what do you suggest I do now?”

While the entire world was very aware of the social media mess that Rachel, Aubrey, and Ted were engaged in, everyone was waiting for Titan’s response to the drama. As far as I knew, Titan hadn’t called any more press conferences to address Aubrey’s shameful confession or Rachel’s claims of mental distress.

I eyed him from where I sat back down on the bed. “Everyone’s going to be expecting a statement from you.”

“And do they deserve one?” he challenged. “Aren’t you the one that told me the less said, the better.”

“I did,” I replied. “And I still believe that.”

“So, what’s there to say?”

“You have cause to really go after them legally now,” I reminded him.

“I do,” he agreed. “However, I’ll only do whatyouwant me to do.” My heart jumped in my chest. “As long as it’s not leaving you alone, I will always do what you want me to do, Lux. Whatever it takes to make you happy.”

I stared at Titan, knowing exactly why women were stupid enough to keep forgiving their partners. Titan kept saying all the right things to make me believe that we were living in a romance novel, and that was a weakness for all women. Titan Miller was in my bedroom, fighting for me, and that was a heady feeling when we both knew that he could have any woman that he wanted. Titan didn’t need to fight this hard for love or a relationship.

“If you go after them, then it’ll stop any more women from ever trying to pull a stunt like this again,” I pointed out. “Though harsh, it’ll send a message that no one can misconstrue.”

“True,” he agreed again.

“In fact, it might save countless athletes from ever having to go through something like this again,” I went on. “A woman might think twice if she knows that she can be sued for such a thing.”

“That’s also true.”

I sat there as Titan stared down at me. The woman that was personally entangled with Titan Miller wanted him to make Rachel and Aubrey pay for what they’d done. The woman that still wanted a future with him wanted him to make sure that nothing like this would ever happen again. The woman that was going to be plastered all over the media for the rest of her life because of him wanted Titan to leave these women with nothing, proving that I was more important than anything else.

However, the PR agent in me wanted Titan to come out of this with more class and grace than had been granted to him throughout this mess. The PR agent in me wanted Titan to take the highroad and prove that he really did respect women, despite his sexual history with them. Victim or villain, with everything about image these days, how Titan handled this mattered. Would he be merciful or go for the juggler? Would he show compassion or ferocity?

“However, they’re already destroying themselves without your help,” I said. “It’s been like a bloodbath online.”

“So I’ve heard.”
