“Millie, you are the best thing that has ever happened to me, and I will spend the rest of my life showing you how much I love you. Will you marry me, for real this time?”

Tears stream down my face. I lean down and kiss him passionately. I feel like my heart is going to explode.

“Is that a yes?” he asks.

I smile. “Yes. A million times, yes.”

Aaron slides the ring on my finger. He stands up and kisses me.

I can’t believe this is happening.

Suddenly I hear cheers and applause.

I look inside and Aaron’s mom is standing there holding Tyler. Danielle is sobbing into Gigi’s shoulder and Natalie is leaning on Matt with tears in her eyes.

“Wait. How? What?”

I feel like my brain doesn’t know how to function anymore.

Aaron laughs. “I knew I was going to do it this afternoon and I wanted them to be here.”

He looks down at the ring on my hand. “Do you like it?”

I realize I didn’t even properly look at it. It’s gorgeous. It looks like the ring my mom used to wear. It’s perfect.

I look up at Aaron’s mom and she nods. She was the only one who knew the story of the ring and how it ended up in storage with my mom’s stuff. It’s my mom’s ring.

I try my best not to turn into a blubbering mess, but I’m on the verge. “It’s perfect.”

Aaron turns around to the group and gestures for them to come out.

The girls rush over and engulf me in a group hug full of tears and screaming.

Danielle kisses my cheek. “I’m going to be such a hot bridesmaid.”

I laugh. “All my girls will look gorgeous.”

Natalie squeals. “I can’t believe that awful show brought us together.”

Aaron walks over. “Me either!”

Everyone congratulates us and Sienna hands out glasses of champagne.

Aaron raises his glass. “I want to thank you all for being here. I knew Millie would want her family here. We love you all. But there’s one last thing I want to do today…”

He looks at me with a mischievous grin.

Oh, no.

He tackles my body and suddenly I’m in the air. I feel my body hit the water with a massive splash.

I come up for air and I’m trying to not to laugh, but I can’t help but smile at him. I’m so happy I feel like I might cry again.

Aaron’s laughing.

Everyone is smiling at us.

He kisses my cheek and leans close. “I had to recreate the moment from the first night here with you. The day I fell in love with you.”

I attempt to scowl at him, but it comes off as a smirk. “You’re lucky I love you.”

He smiles back. “I’m the luckiest man alive.”

I can’t wait to see what the future holds. I look around at my loved ones and I can’t imagine being happier than I am right now.

They all jump in the water and splash around. I look up at Tyler who is laughing down at us from his grandmother’s arms. This is happiness. This is home.

The End
