Goose, Ricochet, and I make our way to the back of the house and listen in for the countdown Venom is giving us. We’ve all got comms in our ears so we can hear and listen to what’s going on or be given instruction once we have the victims out of their cells. The more information we have, the easier it will be to get the fuck out of here with them. If the security teams aren’t dealt with by the time we’re out of here, we’ll have to figure out a different route to escape.

“Three. Two. One,” Venom says as all hell breaks loose.

Every available entrance of the house is breached at the same time. I don’t focus on anything other than getting to the door which will lead us to the secret rooms and maze of hallways. On the way to the door, I manage to take out two of the security team as they round the corner to find out what the fuck is going on.

Goose opens the door we need to head through and we go down the stairs toward the basement. From there we’ll go through another door that’s been built into the wall and hidden from view from everyone. Goose managed to find it somehow. None of us really know what he does or how he works his magic, but he always comes up with the information we need and finds all the dark, dirty secrets of people. Anyway, we make our way down the stairs and head to the door that’s been hidden in the back wall of the basement. The other two teams are hot on our heels as we make our way in the secret passageway and head for where we know the cells are.

It takes us a few wrong turns and swearing before we get to the right location. What we find turns my fucking stomach and fills me with rage. Looking at Goose and Ricochet I know they’re feeling the same as I am. Before us the wall is lined with cells. They’re small, dirty, cramped, and smell horrible. At least four or five women are crammed in each cell with no room to move or get comfortable. There’s a lock on the outside of each cell. The girls all look at us with fear filled eyes as they cower as far away from us as possible.

“We’re not here to hurt you,” I gently tell the girls. “We’re gonna get you out of here and away from this asshole. Once the door is unlocked, we need you to stay with us and don’t look at anythin’ around you when we get out of here.”

A few of the girls nod in response as they tremble with fear. Ricochet gets to work on removing the lock from the door before tossing it to the ground. The others are doing the same farther down from us as we all make quick work of getting the girls out of the cages in this room. Goose and Bull take off to make sure there isn’t anyone else down here before we head out. None of the girls where we are know whether or not anyone else is here. They were knocked out before being put in the cells and have only seen the girls in here with them.

Once the guys return with no other girls, we make our way back to the basement so we can get the fuck out of here. The girls keep up the best they can, but most of them are too injured or don’t have enough strength to move too fast. We match our pace to them so they’re protected, but time is of the essence here. We all need to get the fuck out of here as quickly as we can and make sure the girls are safe in the vans so we can get the fuck away from Horton’s house. The less time we spend here, the better everything will be for us in the long run.

“Make a run for the woods!” Venom yells once we’re up in the house again. “Get those girls in the vans and ready to head the fuck out.”

We all take off and make our way to the vans. The girls really try their best to keep up with us. However, we end up having to pick a few of them up and carry them back with us. These girls have been starved, kept dirty, and tortured for however long they’ve been in the possession of a fucking psycho. Hopefully they accept the help we’re gonna offer them and can heal from what they’ve just been through. At least get to the point where they can live their lives moving forward and not be scared on a daily basis. It’s going to take a lot to get there, but we’ll help them in any way we can.

Making it to the vans, we load the girls up in one of them with Ricochet, Goose, and Bull getting in with them. Brantley is in the driver’s seat of that van while Marco is driving the other one. The rest of us climb in the other van as we wait for everyone else to make their way to us. Now that we have the girls out, it’s time for us to get the fuck out of here.

Chapter Eight

Quinn

THE GUYS RETURNING with all those girls brought complete and total chaos to the clubhouse. My heart broke with every girl who entered the door. They’re dirty, scared, filled with unease, and not sure of anyone around them. I can’t really blame them after being kidnapped and held against their will. We all got the rooms ready, had Doc ready for the ones who need her, and have food prepared for everyone returning. Each one of us made the rounds and talked to the girls as we tried to make sure they realized we weren’t going to hurt them or hold them here against their will. They’re all free to leave whenever they want to.

Of all the girls who the guys brought back, about half of them chose to stay here at the clubhouse while we made calls for the other half to return home to their loved ones. Thankfully, every girl they rescued is not a child. I don’t think I would have been able to handle seeing kids mixed in with this group of women. It’s hard enough seeing them after being with Claw and the asshole who had them.

When Vault and the Phantom Bastards showed up a few hours later, chaos ensued once again. They brought even more victims with them. This time, it wasn’t just females they had. There were men and kids in this group. I had to rush from the common room because I got sick at the sight of those innocent kids and knowing they had been through hell because of sadistic fucks like Claw and the mayor. I don’t know how many others are involved in this shit, but we need to put an end to it once and for all. The club thought they did before, but that’s not the case. We’ll make sure we get it taken care of this time.

Vault and his club didn’t hang around for very long. They dropped those they rescued off and made their way back to their clubhouse after talking to Venom and the rest of the guys for a few minutes. You could see how pissed they all are at the situation though they were glad they could help our club out and get these people away from the idiots who took things that didn’t belong to them. Again, about half of those brought in decided to stay at the clubhouse with us for the time being while phone calls were made for everyone else. Now, it’s a matter of waiting for the family members of the victims to show up and reunite.

I’ve been helping out where I can, but no one’s letting me do a lot of things. It’s mainly running to grab light things that aren’t going to put a strain on me for any reason. Everyone else is doing the heavy lifting and staying close to the victims who are scared and lashing out. Yes, there have been some of them who have hurt the guys because they can’t wrap their minds around being safe now. I don’t blame them, but it doesn’t make it easier to watch what happens when you can’t do anything to help. I’m being kept away from those individuals who are lashing out as they’re all grouped together on one side of the room. I don’t honestly know what we’re going to do with them. We’re just waiting for Doc to finish her assessments before we deal with anything else.

When things calm down, I make my way back into the room I share with my husband to get a break. I can’t be out there and see what’s going on any longer. The second the door is closed behind me, I let the tears I’ve been holding in for hours now fall freely. Collapsing on our bed, I curl up and try to force the images of everyone here out of my mind. It doesn’t work, but I still try all the same. That’s how Wicked finds me when he comes in the room. My husband climbs into bed with me and holds me. Neither one of us says a word as we process what happened and what we’ll do moving forward as a club. We’re all involved in this now and will help these victims the best we can.

Wicked stays with me until Venom calls for church. They’re going to discuss what happened and what they found out from Vault when they were here. Not everyone was included in that conversation so not everyone knows what was found at the warehouse. I don’t know a lot about the situation, but I know more than enough to piece things together. The guys will want to discuss everything and put plans in place for when the mayor discovers what’s been done at his house. I’m sure he’s already been alerted as the club is almost on a lockdown with extra guards at the gate and us all remaining inside the compound so no one gets caught outside.

This is just beginning for us and it’s going to be a long road while this entire situation gets straightened out. I wouldn’t be anywhere else because at the end of the day, this is my family and we’re all about helping out those in need. If it means getting involved in situations that don’t involve us, that’s what we’ll do. Even the ol’ ladies get involved in shit like this because there are things we can do to help the guys and give them the support and strength they need.

It's been a few days since the victims were rescued from the warehouse and mayor’s house. Things are starting to quiet down around the clubhouse as the individuals staying here with us for now are starting to open up and accept the help we’re offering them. Most of them still stay in the room they’ve been given at the compound and only come out for food or an appointment Doc has set up for them. We’ve got counselors coming in to help them. Venom wanted them to come here because we don’t want them away from the clubhouse for any reason until they’re ready to leave the safety we’re offering them. The mayor and the rest of the fuckers are out there still and we don’t want anything happening to them.

None of us are really allowed to leave the clubhouse unless it’s to go to work. All of our shifts have been cut back so none of us are working the hours we typically would be. Today is one of the few days I’m working since I’ve been cut down to working two days a week until the mayor and those working with him are dealt with. That was one of the things discussed in church the night this all happened. When we do leave the compound, we have to have at least a Prospect with us in case anything happens. Claw showed us these fuckers don’t have any morals and will do something to one of us in order to get to the club.

Today I’ve got Tyler with me. He’s one of the newer Prospects the club has taken on so I don’t really know anything about him. All I know is Wicked threatened him and made sure he knows he’ll get the shit beat out of him and kicked out of the club if anything happens to me while we’re out. The only two places I’m going today are the diner to grab something to eat before my shift and then to work. Wicked isn’t happy about me going to the diner for lunch, but I want to get out of the compound for a while and away from the daily reminders of what’s going on.

“Ready to head out?” I ask Tyler as I meet him in the common room.

“Ready when you are,” he answers me before following me from the clubhouse and to the parking lot.

I look around the area as I make my way to one of the club’s SUVs. We haven’t gotten me another car yet, so I’m using one of the club’s vehicles for the time being. I don’t have a problem with it considering they’ve all been upgraded to make sure they’re bullet proof and all that other shit. The guys aren’t taking any chances with anyone’s safety at this point. Well, really since we moved here and away from our parents and the family we grew up with.

“Are you gonna drive me or follow behind on your bike?” I ask Tyler when we get close to the SUV.

“I was told to drive you,” he answers, walking around to the driver’s side while unlocking the doors for me.

We get in and leave the compound behind while making our way to Haley’s diner. I already know she’s got extra people with her because she has been at work since the ass crack of dawn and we don’t know when the mayor will strike out against us for taking what he views as his possessions. It’s honestly just a matter of time before the mayor makes his move against the club and comes for one of us.
