My pulse raced out of control at the sound of my name on my mates lips… Thoughts of investigating the sound from the mysterious room faded away for the briefest second.

I was so fucking warm and my brain just wasn’t working straight. It had taken far too much out of me, sorting out Dusk and Umbra.

Flynn was still staring at me.

I heard sounds down the hall and glanced down to see that Eric and Gareth were both waiting by the stairs.

They’d all come?

“I h-have to go,” I stammered.

“Wait,” Flynn rasped. “Just… wait.”

“What?” My voice was weak, metal digging into my palm as I gripped the keys too tightly.

“I just... fuck.” He straightened, running his fingers through his hair. “Forgive me, but…” He looked pained. “You came to us at the ball, and now I see you everywhere.”

My mouth dropped open, completely caught off guard by his words.

“I’m not the only one. It’s Eric and Gareth, too. You’re… different.”

I froze completely, staring at him.

“But Eric…” I trailed off, knowing I shouldn’t say that.

Flynn frowned, cocking his head. “What?”

“I… I heard him…” My voice was weak. “He said I didn’t belong here. He uh… doesn’t like my hair,” I said, but Flynn’s eyes darkened. “I d-didn’t mean to overhear?—”

“Fuck.” He leaned back, letting out a breath. “Eric’s a fucking idiot, alright? And he doesn’t… He’s not used to…” He ran his fingers through his hair again, still so anxious. “We’ve never been interested in an omega like we’re interested in you, Shatter.”

Interested?

What?

This… wasn’t the time.

I couldn’t do this right now.

“And Eric,” Flynn continued, “all of us—we see you with the Kingsman pack every goddamned day. You have no idea how it’s killing us. So he pretends he hates you because he can’t handle it.”

“Hates me?” I shrank down, Eric’s words still replaying in my head like they had so many times.

“Hedoesn’thate you. Please, don’t let him blow this chance. Not because Eric can’t keep his mouth shut.”

I couldn’t think.

He was asking me for a chance?

At what?

“I’ll get him on his knees for you. He’ll beg you for forgiveness, I swear it.” There was the faintest smile on his face.

But none of this made sense.

What about Roxy?

He knew I was her friend. And what he was asking…
