“I want Princess to give me a little princess.” My words hit her like a ton of bricks, snapping her out of the euphoric state my hands and lips put her in. “Not today. Or tomorrow, but soon. Can I have that?”

“Yes.”

“Are you fuckin’ with me?” I squinted, trying to read her true feelings on the topic.

“No, but I want to enjoy being married before I have to share you with somebody else.”

“The most spoiled shit I’ve ever heard.”

“It’s the truth. If it’s a girl, she’ll wrap you around her finger. If it’s a boy, you and your mini-me will be joined at the hip. Once that baby comes, I’m toast, and I know it.”

“You’ll always be my number one.”

“Hmm, sure. Get up so you can see your parents. Morgan is blowing you up,” she replied, climbing off my lap and heading into the bathroom.

The haste that rolled off her lips when she mentioned his name told me something happened while I was gone. She changed the subject or lied by telling me nothing whenever I asked Solana about it.

“Wassup Mo?" I asked, answering his call.

“You need me to come and scoop you?”

“I’m not handicap nigga. I can drive myself.”

“Aite bitch. See if I’m nice to you again,” Morgan rebutted.

“You’ve been real sensitive lately. You alright?”

“I’m good. I’ll see you at home.”

“Aite, I’m leaving in a few.”

“Bet.” Morgan hung up, and I tossed my phone on the bed.

I hopped in the shower to get dressed and start my day. I yanked the curtain back, and Solana’s eyes roamed the water pellets dripping from my body as I grabbed my towel.

“I really don’t feel like going anywhere tonight,” Solana admitted, trying to focus on brushing her teeth instead of her knees pushed together.

The last few weeks had been crazy, so I understood why she didn’t feel like it, but that wasn’t an option—not tonight.

“Too bad.”

“Are you going to tell me where we’re going?” Solana asked, following me back into the bedroom.

“No.”

“Why not?”

“It’s a surprise Solana, why would I do that?”

“You know how I feel about surprises.”

“Because You’re nosey as hell, so start planning your outfit now,” I insisted, smacking her on the ass.

“What should I wear for this surprise?”

“You look good no matter what you wear,” I assured her as I got dressed so I could head out.

The drive to Hammond Hills was a breeze—maybe because I honestly never expected to make it out of that basement. Once you got on the bad side of the Marauds, there was no turning back. I accepted that the minute I saw Tyson’s face, but clearly, I underestimated my wife. I don’t know what Solana said or did, but knowing she was ten toes down let me know I made the right decision to marry her.
