“You know I’d love your hands on me, Kevin,” I whisper, enjoying the banter once again.
Kevin closes his eyes and exhales, muttering something under his breath.
“What’s that?” I ask, peering at him curiously.
“I said, be careful what you wish for, Shelby.”
And then he meets my eyes, and I almost choke at the sight of desire in them. His gaze slips over me again, and he grits his teeth, cursing.
“You’ll be the death of me.”
Be brave.
“As long as it’s mid-fuck.”
Kevin groans and I snicker, daring to wrap my arm around his waist.
Tommy looks at us, his arm around my mom’s shoulders.
Kevin stiffens, and I stare back at Tommy, unsure of what he’s trying to work out.
His gaze moves to Kevin’s hand resting on my shoulder, and like he knows, Kevin traces his fingers over my skin so softly I almost moan in pleasure.
“God,” I hiss, hating how he makes me feel.
“No. Kevin,” Kevin mutters into my ear, pulling me close so he can press his lips to my head.
What. The. Fuck.
Tommy turns back, and I wonder what his problem is.
Not that I care with Kevin’s arm around me.
And his lips on my head.
We approach the restaurant, and Mom and Tommy head in first, but Kevin holds me back.
His arm slips from my shoulder as he watches them head in before returning his gaze to mine.
“I don’t like him.” Kevin stares back at the restaurant, his brow furrowed.
I laugh.
“You don’t likeanyone.”
“No, I mean,” Kevin steps closer to me, and I’m once again staring up at him. He dwarfs me, and I love it.
It makes me dizzy. “I don’t like the way he’s looking at you.”
Screeeeeeech! My heart slams to a complete stop in my chest, and I try to move my lips to form the words I need to say, but they’re so cold it’s difficult.
“Jealous?” I ask breathlessly, pushing my lips together to warm them up.
Kevin shakes his head, and my soul dies a little inside.
“Wary. He’s slimy and paying more attention to you than your mother.”
His lack of jealousy still burns me, so I shrug and head inside.
