“We’ll go shopping tomorrow,” she says with a yawn. “But I need to sleep in first.”

“Sure,” I say, super aware of the heat coming from Kevin’s body from beside me.

“We can’t party until the baby is born, but there’s plenty of eye candy for you regardless. I’m sure you’ll have a little vacay romance.”

My cheeks drain of color, and Kevin’s head moves so he’s staring at me.

“I bet she will.”

What the hell? Is he serious?!

“Excuse me?” I say, arching a brow in his direction. “What is that supposed to mean?”

Kevin scoffs.

“What I said. You’ll hook up with someone, right?”

I can’t believe this.

I grit my teeth and turn my attention back to Ivy, who looks puzzled.

“Dad, that’s kind of rude….”

Kevin shrugs.

“Wasn’t intended to be; I was just stating a fact.”

My skin feels like it’s on fire, and I can’t hold my tongue, not even for Ivy.

“Well, you’re wrong. I’m not here to hook up with anyone; I’m here to see Ivy.”

Kevin’s jaw tenses, but he doesn’t say anything more.

“Okay,” Ivy says, her eyes wide. “So, um, what would you guys like to do while you’re here?”

I’m too pissed to answer, but Kevin stretches his legs and sighs.

“I’d love to take my beautiful daughter out for lunch, and maybe you can give me a tour of the city. Show me what I’m missing.”

If he speaks to me like that again, he’ll be missing his teeth.

“Great, Griffin has to work a couple of days next week, but we could all go when he’s off.”

I force a smile.

“Sounds great.”

Ivy gives me a sympathetic smile.

“I know you’re down about the whole Finlay thing—”

Kevin bristles beside me, and I feel a flicker of happiness at his discomfort.

“I’m okay,” I say with a shrug. “I don’t have much luck with men.”

Ivy makes a face.

“You need a real man.” Her eyes move to Griffin, who hands her a pink milkshake before handing me and Kevin a beer. “Do you know anyone, baby?”
